A question

Is there any way to combat nose down to to high prop placement I built a Cl415 water bomber and it has very high prop placement on top of the wings due to this It has a very high centre of thrust causing It to have a strong nose down effect I can't change the prop placement because this is a replica and can't mess with the com or it will be uncontrollable I tried to make flaps for trim but it had 0 effect at all is there any thing that can be done to over come this problem ???????? I also need it to not go faster then 220 mph so jet engines are ruled out here... Or should I just release it as is witch would be a bad idea

@Krathar it's alright, we got it fixed without having to add weight. Changing the stabilisers' inversion in the XML so that they produce downforce instead of lift countered it by about the right amount

@Skua,don't hide the vtol engine, just hide the nozzle..and use detacher trick for the vtol

@ronyseptian17 in the circumstances there wasn't anywhere suitable to hide a VTOL engine. Normally that'd be a good shout, though

@Cedy117 I PM'd you the new version on reddit. Ignore the warning about requiring the beta, it hasn't got any beta parts.

Adding ballast in the tail section sometimes works for me. Also, a hidden VTOL engine & nozzles can be used for trimming. You should ask someone to mod you a .25 strength engine, though. I'm having similar troubles with a Antonov 72... I'm on iOS too, by the way. Check this, too... https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/f1vux8/Variable-Incidence-Wing-STOL-test

@Cedy117 if you do an unlisted upload and link me I can try to sort it by rotating the engines a little?

@Cedy117 what about using different wing setups like flat bottom

I'm not sure if it will work for you, but putting spoilers at the back of the plane works for me.

I've managed to reduce the problem by giving the horizontal stabilisers at the flat bottom profiles, but not totally eliminate it. The only other ideas I can think of are:

    • mount a set of wings on rotators so they can be used for trim

    • XML edit the engines to tilt upwards/downwards slightly, whatever works
