Glide ratio of real-life gliders (like 30:1, 40:1) looked impressive for me, so I've decided to make my own gliders. However, I can't make them go that high, in fact the best I got was something like 15:1.
I try keeping aspect ratio high and keep CoL close enough to CoM and keep drag as low as possible (I have a glider with 305 drag points currently), but I can't do it good enough. Heck, I can't even find the right speed to glide with gliders :(
So, the question is in the title. How can I achieve those impressive glide ratios in SimplePlanes?
@Captain247 Didn't seem to work... :(
Use xml and make the scale of all your wings 0.5,0.5,0.5. Then normal scale it up again.
It increases the area of your wings and makes them able to glide for longer.
Also if not good enough to make it 0.1,0.1,0.1 in xml.
make sure to make all wings the same or the glider will go out of control.
