Title: An Interesting Encounter
Setting: Somewhere in Japan
We were sitting by the pier, on the boardwalk's bench, nothing but forest, and water between us, it's as if absolutely nothing was happening besides us having this conversation.
Miasaki: "What's keeping you?"
Me: "I don't know, somethin really weird happened today..."
Miasaki: "Oh come on, you can tell me. I'm the only girl that's actually seen relatively weird stuff around this town!"
Me, "Well, fine, but only if you promise t-
Miasaki "My lips are zipped!"
She looked at me with a eager grin, that kind of grin a kid gives you when they have something "super" important to tell you.
I began, "Alrighty, so you know how I work at a mining company right?" She nodded, "Well, we were mining pretty deep, around 500 to 600 feet or so when the drill got caught on something, or at least, that's what it said, I've told you what we do when that happens, we go out and mine ourselves until we find whatever's caught on it, but... we fell into a hole when we got to the end of the drill bit, which was odd, because it said it got stuck, not opened. After further inspection, we found what looked like a iron rod was wedged in between the drill and the rock."
Miasaki: "But what fired it?"
Me: "That's the same question me and my team was wondering. We noticed that the entrance of this... 'cave' wasn't too far from where we were, so we walked that way, as we walked, we postulated at what possibly could be the cause of the rod, but then, one of my boy's noted that it had feather like protrusions on it, like a arrow. After he said that, we all began to feel a little nervous, we didn't, nor did we want to, know who or what fired that iron bow"
Miasaki: "Why did you guys leave the drill behind?"
Me: "It looked like it was too stuck to back out, so we'd need to go back to the dig site to get a crane and pull it back out with sufficient force."
"Anyway, when we were about halfway to the cave entrance, we saw something move out of sight of the lamp I was holding, I told them to hang back, and I went to investigate, and you'll never guess what I found..."
(Misaki looked extremely curious after I said this...)
Miasaki: "Well? What'd you find?!!"
Me: "A tail... well, nine actually, I thought, what the hell was a pack of foxes doing in a place like this?, so I went to pull one of the tails out from behind the rock, (not my best idea tbh) and... I heard a high pitched "eep!" from the other side of the rock, I jumped back, arguably startled. And I called my team over to investigate, and one of them noticed that, this thing wasn't a fox, it... was a girl!"
Miasaki: "What?! she better not be-
Me: "No! she didn't flirt with me, let me finish."
"Anyway, this wasn't just any ordinary girl, I knew it a soon as I made the connection, a girl, with the tail or in this case, tails, of a fox. This, was a Kitsunemimi, a fox-human! I thought it was only fiction and fairy tails but nope it was as real as can be! as soon as one of my buddies went to grab his camera to take a picture, a big blue flame emitted from her hand, we all jumped back, I did cause I got scared out of my mind. But the rest if the group had read the stories, I didn't. We were all thinking that we had pissed her off, or scared her enough to throw up her defense's, but we all knew she was dangerous now."
Miasaki: "Did any of you talk to her? What did she look like?"
Me: "I was getting to both of those."
"She was small, mabye around 5'9" but she was built like no woman I've ever met, no offense...
But no one except me, decided to try speaking to her."
"The conversation went a little bit like-
Me: "Ko- Konichiwa?" (H- Hello?
???: "N?" (Huh?)
(She speaks Chinese... this is a problem, I thought to myself.)
Me: "Nî haô?" (Hello?
???: "Nî shi shuí?" (Who are you?)
(She was quivering, oddly, I understood why...)
???: "Bûýào shanghài wo..." (Don't hurt me...)
Me: "Zhè bùshì wo de yìtú." (That is not my intent.)
Other teammate:
"Ni you míngzì ma?" (Do you have a name?)
??? "Shì de, wo de míngzì shì Komusu."
(Yes, my name is Komusu)
"Once we got her name, I decided to get a picture of her. I don't have it with me, it's in our house."
Miasaki: "What did you do after that?"
Me: "I called off the drilling operation, I didn't want to damage what was most likely her home, more than I most likely already have."
Miasaki: "That's why I love you, so thoughtful."
She smiles at me, I grin back.
Me: "What should we do now?"
Miasaki: "Well, I could use some help with something in the house."
Me: "I guess I'll help then."

This Story was based off of my head alone. Lol
For context, Kitsune's in Japanese culture usually live for tens of thousands of years, and this one came at around the time Japan didn't actually have its own language yet. This explains why she doesn't understand Japanese too well.
@TatsuTheOtaku indeed
