Okay so we know guns don't work in multiplayer and missiles kind of work, but not reliably. But, what if we used a Tactical Combat Training System?
What I had in mind is the TCTS would have a missile inside of it that isn't actually supposed to be fired. Instead, it has a lockTime of 5-10 seconds and in a mock dogfight, whoever locks onto the other first would be considered winner. Of course, for the fight to be fair, the lockTime, maxRange, and maxTargetingAngle would have to be standardized. And it is kind of easy to cheat by changing these values...
Pros I can think of:
-You don't have to restart when you die. (Even if you don't blow up, missiles usually disable your radar if explosion sync is on.)
-It is easy for both parties to know when they've won/lost.
-Sort of simulates gun kills.
To the people who play multiplayer, what do you think? And what XML values should be used for the TCTS?
No, just blow up the other peoples' planes.
Well you can just use a fuselage and attach it to a missle and boom! Today melee is the technique to kill someone.

Maybe just use missile lock sounds as an indicator like you said.
@Sparky6004 I was trying to think of a way where VC wasn't required. Plus, there's no way to argue over if someone actually got the kill or not (ideally).
You could just be on a VC in discord or smth and just call out like it’s an aggressor sortie

Ah yes, don't forget to Lock the Missiles with activation group until you and your Oppenent Close enough.
(Although i can't play Multi Player cuz i only have a Phone and My PC is bad af)
usually the way i do it is just get a gun part for the pipper and whenever it goes over the target we call knock it off and the fight is over

prob should also be in vc 1 to coordinate it but also if someone else locks
one issue with actually FIRING the missile is that sometimes your aircraft will pop off radar so if your missile misses the enemy will not be able to fight back
sure, i've been messin around and doin tests in MP trying to get tankfighting to work and it's pretty alright so far but i haven't done much in terms of making MP dogfights work.. we could try using bomb launchers as the guns in a plane and having actual killing, as for missiles... just up the explosion scale i guess
