In my opinion one problem is that a lot modern music is largely “fake” not saying it’s not real music so much as there’s no real instrument is being used and often if there are lyrics they use a lot of autotune. That’s why I like classic rock.
Emm, deathstep anyone? no? lul, nobody can know everything so best we can do is suggest that first is good and second is not, through a prism(our taste, mood, probably some more factors...), so, it's kind of subjectively... nah, me better go build. this is also a mere opinion which is not to be claimed as super correct *smth*

He's talking about old songs of any genres but probably it may have been best if he said a year like 1960-1990 cause music then was brilliant then todays music @SupremeDorian
@jamesPLANESii that's why I mainly listen to electronic nowadays, nearly infinite variation in music, from slow chill stuff to songs that have BPM's in the tens of thousands
In a forest, if you look for a tree, you will only see the trees. Look deeper and you may find the various creatures, plants, and animals that compose the entire forest.
In summary, you will only see the stuff you want see, and although it isn't wrong, it will make you seem pretty shallow and biased.
It always bothered me a bit when people say stuff like this. What you've said covers a very wide range of genres and songs, and you haven't elaborated on what exactly you mean. I can say X old rock song is a better song than Y modern pop song, but that wouldn't be a good comparison at all because they're two completely different genres. There are good and bad songs from every time period. If you're not willing to look for the songs from the current era that you would actually like and only look at the stuff you don't like, then of course you're gonna think that old music is just somehow better by default.
i agree

May I add I cannot defend ALL rap as there are many popular rap songs and artists i find terrible.
Everyone out here hating on rap but have no clue on the culture and context behind it. sad.

Not really, there are plenty of great modern songs. You just need to look hard enough to see it. Example

Nostalgia, you have a feeling of nostalgia. That’s why you like old songs than new songs.

I think it's survivorship bias. It's not better, but you forgot all the bad songs.
Classic rock/pop is where it’s at!
You should know that opinions aren't allowed on the internet. Prepare for drama
That's hardly a controversial opinion, And i agree.
I don't talk the language of "HATE" here.
