I have noticed that the community has been making planes for youtubers. Personally, I think this is great. I have never published a plane for a youtuber, but I have been featured on WeaselZone's videos a few times.
However there is a small downside to youtubers. People get annoyed when people name there planes "WeaselZone [plane name]" , or "[plane name] (WEASEL)". Also, I'm sure that people do not like adding the youtuber's name into their plane name.
I have a solution that might work. Tags like "Youtuber" or "WeaselZone" can be made as a solution. Simply put the tag into your plane name, and there is no need to change your plane name. However these tags do not exist. I would like some feedback on this.
Overall, I like watching, and being featured in, sp themed YouTube videos. I think that YouTube will be an overall benefit in the community.
Lol i got ripped of my oscar winning city bomber and city destroyer has anyone seen that in a youtuber video?
@AgDynamics damn hit me right in the truth. That hurts man
I made on of these forum posts previously, and I agree this needs to be fixed.
@AgDynamics Good idea. I have never been faced with the problem of people stealing my works, because I am a new account.
I agree with you 100% on that. @AgDynamics
@spefyjerbf I believe custom tags would actually be a good solution to the issue, but I fear it may encourage people to create more repainted versions of other peoples' aircraft.
If people want a youpotato to test a build, they should just tag them in the comments of that build. Repainting other peoples' planes for a youpotato to fly takes credit, points, and recognition away from the original builder. I take pride in all my builds, including the paint. If someone is going to fly my plane in a video, I want it to be shown how I intended, not repainted some ugly brown or green/black thing.
So I'm against this whole YouTube thing but it brings more players, but that means more of what I just said of stealing the plane repainting it and renaming it as "For PhlyDaily" or "For Jacksepticeye" like I already said.
The YouTubers are not going to go look through the newest tab there only going to look at the home page or the highest rated tab and most of the planes are from those pages and just repainted and renamed "For PhlyDaily" or "For Jacksepticeye" and all there doing is filling up the newest tab with repainted copies and it is getting really old fast! I saw about 7 of those planes today...
@AgDynamics Very true. What also annoys me is the quality of the planes that are made for youtubers. Many of the planes seem to be lacking in quality.
@AgDynamics exactly. I do love his idea though
Or how about everybody stops desperately trying to attract the youpotatos and just let them pick what they want to fly instead of repainting other peoples' hard work and begging for their attention.
