so I started this like 1 & a ½ a week and this is where it is, if you have any suggestions to add on this or any variants you want me to make I will gladly take notes also this forum will have more and more screenshots the more progress I do similar to @WIZARD2017's B-29 Build Progress so stay tuned for more screenshots
1. Nov 19, 2021
Still not wanting to continue the tail but I'll eventually do it
Finally did the main wings and the engines but this is before when the engines were put on
This detacher is for the G-Force and speed when it exceeds the limit it will fly away similar to warthunder
Finally made the bombs there are 8x 4,800lb bombs, don't worry there will be other variants with different payload
Inside view of the top turret
Behind the pilot's view of the top turret, not too much detail though
The norden bomb sight, I don't know if it works yet, I used @WIZARD2017's Bomb sight from his B-29 as a reference
Currently on 1721 parts, quite laggy but not too laggy
2. Nov 20, 2021
Begun working on the tail I'll finish this today (it probably won't happen but let's see)
Norden bomb sight view
Finished the rudder now working on the fuselage of the tail (I only do one side so that when it's finished I can just mirror the other side and connect it to the right place)
Finally added the tail gunner position
You can't see much change but theres a lot compared from the previous image to this, I painted it silver cause it looks cooler
Starting to finish the bottom part, and then I'll do the interior and then I'll connect it to the whole fuselage
3. Nov 21, 2021
here are the wings with the engines trying to use @WIZARD2017's cold start engine starting mechanism from his B-29 (I'll give credit at the end)
4. Nov 24, 2021
Added the chin turret base just needs guns and coding for auto aiming
5. Nov 28, 2021
Full on realistic damage tail this is what it looks like when I got shot three time by an A.I.
6. Nov 29. 2021
The beginning of the interior
Added some walls
Added the nose window
Another set of walls
Without the tail and with a little bit of interior it's at 1397 parts
7. Nov 30. 2021
What it looks like now
Cat walk view
Navigator area gave the bombardier a chair
How it looks like getting shot
Inside view when shot at
Radio Box has been made for extra detail, I don't actually know what's supposed to be written there on the label
Navigators map credits to @WIZARD2017 for the map
8. Dec 2. 2021
Added the cockpit top window
Bomb bay doors not activated by Ag's nor VTOL nor Trim
Bombardier's bombing control panel thingy
Cockpits centre control panel
New paint job on the nose
Centre control panel updated
The elevators are done
more screenshots on this forum in a few days so stay tuned :)
impressive
@SLSD I don't exactly know if the B-17G can carpet bomb but I'll do some research on it and see if it can be done
@Mikuisaboi np
@Mikuisaboi indeed
@WIZARD2017 thanks sorry for replying late
Ahh right ok
@MrShenanigans
@CoolPeach yeah I thought of doing that but by the time I thought of it I was alreadyso far a head so I couldn't go back cause I already lost one of my B-17G which is one before this which was supposed to be the main one but I lost it since there was another craft with the same name
Hmm, i guess that makes sense, but you can still do the same thing with the new feature by just cutting the fusalages into smaller pieces. It’s cleaner and wayyyy faster @MrShenanigans
@CoolPeach well I'm trying to accomplish something like WIZARD2017's B-29 with realistic damage plus I also like you B-17 so I just built it paneled
Why are you panelling the fuselage, could easily use hollow fuselages and cut them out to save so many parts, and looks cleaner.
