This demonstration is nothing more than an example of just what kind of scaling you will expect to deal with in SimpleWarships. I actually never planned to take this photo, as I was just testing some new stability edits to the buoyancy code(since ships used to not be stable enough to hold an even keel at speed), but I figured I might as well.
I always knew that SimplePlanes had a much smaller scale than reality, but this puts it in perspective. I sailed a 100-110m destroyer hull(similar to the length of a typical WW2 Fletcher-class destroyer, perhaps a tad shorter) built using SimpleWarships parts right up alongside the stock USS Tiny south-southwest of the South Runway. This should also make anyone who feels bad about not being able to land on the USS Tiny feel a little bit better about themselves.
@UnstableOrbit ok
@JMicah4 its looking like it will no longer be a mod for this game but rather its own separate game entirely. I cannot say anything else right now.
what happened to this?
@arcues Lol not rip, work actually restarted on SW early this morning to put in some new systems, and tests have been promising so far. Not dead yet!
RIP
@UnstableOrbit awww :,C
@HellFireKoder Yeah, I noticed that. Its really irritating. Also, because the devs added the ability to move parts with MMB, trying to spin the camera while having a part highlighted has a 25% chance of moving it.
@XVIindustries I made a mod for that, Limitless Editor, although it may cause spinning the camera while editing values if you use 0.6 (because I don't have a proper, reliable way to tell if the mouse is on GUI), it allows you to zoom out as far as you need.
@UnstableOrbit have you edited the zoom in the builder? Cause if not I don't see how you would be able to eisily build something Bismarck size without getting extremely annoyed, then again, it's nice to see the progress you've made :) and I really like the look of your mod,
Not yet released @Dstroyer101
@UnstableOrbit How do I get it
@Lucasmah Its a mod that adds warship pieces and physics to simpleplanes.
Simple warships? Is that a new game?
The hull has been put on public display for anyone who wants to take a look at it.
