Q1: Whats it like owning such a large discord server? How does it feel?
Wii: "Well it’s only the 4th largest SP discord but either the most or 2nd most active. It’s really draining because the amount of people into SP can fluctuate. But it feels great, honestly it’s only my 2nd month owning it, but I’m really happy with it so far. So to answer your question, it’s joyful but draining."
Q2: In your honest opinion, what is the best build on the site?
Wii: "My answer is the SUH-30-Libra, by my friend Noname. Is it the actual best in skill on the site? Probably not. But is it fun and still pretty skilled? Yes. I enjoy it a lot."
Q3: What do you think would benefit the game by being added?
Wii: "Breakable buildings on the SimplePlanes map and a city area."
Q4: What was being permabanned like? what do you think the site mods could to better to improve our experience?
Wii: "Honestly this question was coming from a mile away, but I’ll answer it for you. Being permabanned was crushing. When logged onto my old account, I am only capable of looking at a ban screen, my builds index is impossible to access, and overall I felt crushed by the ban. I overcame it to where I am today, but not without EternalDarkness unbanning me. The site mods have changed since my ban, but I feel that they’re doing an alright job. I hope they keep their job strictly unbiased, but to me they’re doing pretty well, compared to past mods."

Vincent: "Well, it's just a daily task, like brushing your teeth."

Q1: When did you become a moderator? How does it feel?
Dorian: ” There's a bit of history here. It all started somewhere around early 2019 when I was selected to be a trial moderator on the official Spaceflight Simulator forums. I was, ultimately, not selected for the role, but I was given reserve moderator status which meant I would be given moderator permissions when other staff are absent for a while. This gave me my first experience moderating a community, and I did eventually get full moderator status there. Fast forward to late October 2019, and I was selected to be a moderator on the SimpleRockets Chat Discord server. I had built up a good reputation within that community, and a couple months later in January 2020 I received a Discord DM from Andrew asking if I wanted to be a moderator on the SimpleRockets 2 website. I accepted, and then in March I asked to be made a moderator on the SimplePlanes site as well. Then, on March 18, it happened. TL;DR: March 18, 2020”

Q2: What parts would benefit the game by being added?

Dorian: ”As far as parts go I think SimplePlanes is in a pretty good state. Maybe a programmable screen like SimpleRockets 2's MFDs?”

Q3: Other than the two JUNDROO games, what are your favorite games to play?

Dorian: ”Well, as we speak I am currently playing through Bloodborne. Other games I like to play include: FTL, Burnout Paradise, Battlefield 4, Dishonored 1 or 2, DOOM Eternal, and others I won't continue to list. Of those, while not necessarily my favourite, I would most recommend FTL. It's a roguelike game with resource management elements where you command a spaceship through increasingly difficult sectors in order to carry a warning about the Rebel flagship.”

Q4: Anything you have to say to the community?

Dorian: ” Be nice, not only to others but also yourselves. If you feel sad, try making someone else feel happy. Compliment them, get them a gift, spend time with them, and remember to treat yourself too when you can.”

Q1: Why do you put so much detail into your planes? What motivates you to do that?

KLM: ” I make such detailed planes because I like investing time into difficult projects and seeing how well I can do in the end. My motivation comes from knowing what the finished product will be like.”

Q2: What’s your favorite airline and plane

KLM: ” I probably favor the KLM 747-200SUD and -400, but my favorite single airliner is a JAL 747-146B/SR/SUD, JA8170.”

Q3: in your honest opinion, what’s the best build on the site right now?

KLM: ”One part HUD. It’s just so innovative considering there aren’t any tutorials on how to do that kind of thing right now.”

Final question, what are your tips at getting better at building?

KLM: ” 0. Decide how detailed you want your model to be. Don't spend all your parts on one section of the plane.
1. Try your best to find blueprints
2. Find a 3d model, FSX is a great platform for seeing how things look from different angles. (just make sure your FSX model is good quality)
3. Ask your peers to test or review your craft before posting
4. This isn't really a part of building, but please make your flight dynamics correct if you are making a replica (Stall speeds, runway requirements for takeoff and landing, etc)
5. Pay attention to the details, especially things that you can add for only a few parts.
6. If you don't like the way something looks, keep trying. Don't settle for something below your goals. (even if you fail, you now know what won't work)
7. Make sure you start projects that you can finish.
8. Research is your best friend when it comes to aircraft systems like spoilers, FBW, engine fuel burn, and a million other things.”
