Hello everyone! I just picked up this game on steam yesterday and I am loving it! However I am running into a small snag. I have built 2 planes so far, and both of them tend to nosedive into the ground. This occurs constantly. My planes tend to fly parabolas rather than straight lines when I can get them airborne. I have flown some community creations and know that stable, level flight is possible, I'm just doing something wrong. A little help please?
Back then when time was simple
Also, if you want help with something specific, feel free to upload it and give me a link
To expand on what Deezducks said:
CoL behind CoM, but not by too much.
CoT at roughly the same height as the CoM. This doesn't need to be precise, but if it's too far away then it will force a pitching motion.
Use wing profiles! The symmetric, semi-symmetric, and flat bottom options on wings affect how much lift they produce when they have no angle of attack. Flat bottom profiles give extra lift, symmetric ones give none. If your plane is nosing down, give wings in front of the CoM more lift and ones behind the CoM less. If it's nosing up, do the opposite.
And welcome!!!
Use the COM, COT and COL feature to guide you. Your COM should be in front of the COM but not too much. I usually fiddle around till it flies straight.
