I'm burnt out

37.7k V  2.8 years ago

So I've been working on this car for at least 7 months now, and I haven't made any progress on it in 2 weeks. It likely won't be done anytime soon and im kinda bored of working on it. Should I just make it operable and upload it as is? Or should I finish it off? I'm rather bored of building at the moment so expect the car to take a LONG time if you want me to finish it off.

I usually have 2 or 3 projects at a time. Usually a replica plane, a fictional plane, and a super detailed car project. I usually build the fictional planes when I'm burnt out, build the car when I'm into mechanics and minor details and not so much planes, and build the replica plane when I'm full of inspiration. And I usually have a long break inbetween. Like for the past, I haven't been playing playing SimplePlanes at all and have played other games.

    Don't worry about it

We always did boring building like this but output made us good... (Or not. It's just me and my friend's experience.)

@BaconEggs good idea, I've been thinking about a helicopter design so I might get burnt out on that so I have inspiration to work on the car. Some point tomorrow or Sunday I plan on making a video on this car beating gold prix, it currently does gold prix in 28 seconds

do smaller intermittent builds every time you get burnout(or just take a break from sp entirely lol), i have a number of them that i turn to when i ever get tired of my long term thingy
    ,
also organizing things as well as todo lists greatly help keep things focused, i have a private discord full of reference images or research on stuff im making & i always have a list of things to rattle off when i finish a build

Lemme tell you one thing I do, what I do is I think of a plan on what I would do first and what would be next its what I do to the tomcat every night, which then gets me excited to do the plane the next day and helps me get it done, but, I would suggest to find motivation (Idk like russian hardbass music) and then finish it thats what I do when I get bored of building on the same build over and over again, but its up to you, but I would suggest finding some motivation and then think of a plan on what your about to do to the car

If you want to upload it, go for it. The finished product might turn out much better, but holding onto something because it's unfinished is really demotivating and degrading. That being said, just build things you think are fun and if something is not turning out very good or is taking a long time, sometimes it's good to just step back and build something you want to build. Eventually you will regain motivation and you can finish your build and enjoy it rather than forcing yourself to keep working on it.

Finish it. I have no human emotions or sympathy.

From what i can see it's still pretty incomplete but if you force yourself to finish it anyways it will probably not turn out very well. I think you should just make it playable enough, give it a proper paint scheme and upload it.
