For now the only way to separate lines in comments is by using 3 underscores (___) between the lines, which puts them too far apart and makes formating difficult. If you use just the return key, the website will simply ignore it and display the lines together anyways, this doesn't seem to happen on airplane and forum posts. See the pinned comment for an example.
@UltraLight I don't think that's it, if you try to comment a space the website tells you to write something before commenting, plus, empty comments are not nearly a big enough problem to justify removing a feature that every other wensite seems to have no problem with. Also, you could just make a empty comment with a blank character if you really wanted to.
I think you can't make a blank line to prevent people from spamming empty comments. I know, it's pretty dumb since you could just put a period but I think that's the mentality.
Another way of thinking about it is that comments should ultimately be a single-paragraph statement, not a long, multi-page essay(even tho I abuse this on the daily lol)
Line break
with return key
Line break
with underscores
Line break
with empty hyperlink workaround (this thing > []() <)
@UltraLight lol
Huh...
Interesting
.
But yes, it can get annoying.
@UltraLight Doesn't change the fact that the website is missing a basic feature pretty much every other website has.
@Korzalerke idk whatever, it doesnt rly bother me that much
@UltraLight
Lmao what is that then \/
holy crap thats cool
test
:)
@Korzalerke yeah I know. But there's a good reason why it isn't implemented, at least I think so. I'll put it in another comment so you can pin, if you'd like.
@UltraLight Something so simple shouldn't require a workaround like that. What about newer players who don't know this? Wouldn't it be better if you could just use the return key like in every other website that allows comments?
@Korzalerke open bracket, close bracket, open parenthesis, close parenthesis, example below
Like you're adding a link, but theres nothing in either slot
[]()
@UltraLight How did you do that?
@asteroidbook345 @Korzalerke hmm lemme think very hard 🤔
You already can do that lmao
@asteroidbook345 Why not?
no
lol
Cool
.
Chicken nuggets @PlaneFlightX
I use this to separate lines.
.
It is a good suggestion tho.
Nice idea
