Hi,
I've seen a lot of build which had custom control surfaces made from fuselage pieces, with little wings hidden inside of them so that they function properly.
Only, when I try and do this, my aircraft behaves very strangely.
The ailerons have little to no impact, even though they are quite large. If I use the same size wing with the build in aileron also the same size, the aircraft turns as I would expect. But by putting tiny wings in my custom ailerons, it hardly turns at all.
Same for the elevators. Hardly any pitch.
The weirdest one is the flaps. Instead of making the aircraft pitch up and fly better at low speeds, it just pitches down hard.
Is there a trick that I'm missing somewhere here?

If anybody wants to take a look I would be very thankful.
@PlaneFlightX Aaaah, right, fair enough, thanks!
What you do is make the custom controls surfaces with drag and collisions disabled. This is purely for looks. For the functional bit, just make a normal "physics wing" (a normal wing) and then scale it down.
If you are still stuck, have a look at the Lexair 300 for ideas. It was my first plane with custom control surfaces.
