This is something a little bit unusual, but I thought this was a good place to to start with.
Idea:
So a few weeks ago I had this idea for a "board game"( not sure if that's the right word), which uses 1:200 scale model airplanes (fighter jets) to recreate air combat ,air to ground missions or both combined.
Setup:
The playingfield consists of two parts . the upper part will have a grid pattern and would be used for air assets . The lower part would be used for ground assets (like e.g: SAM, Tanks ,Radar, Ships,...*)
How to play:
I haven't worked out all the details yet , but the basic idea is that, it would be a turn based game, with Two or more teams/players playing against each other.the aim would be to either destroy all enemy assets or to just destroy one strategic target.
The airplanes would be moved by throwing a dice,
The airplane can now move as many squares as the number on the dice . Airplanes with a larger turn radius need more squares to turn.depending on the airplanes range it will only be able to operate for a certain amount of turns ,the airplane will either have to rtb or be refueled in another way after that.
Some other things that I think would be nice to implement (but I don't know how to do it yet):
-During each turn (if an enemy is in range and as long as you have weapons left) you can attack as well.
-weapons range/and variety
- countermeasures
* There would be different scales for ground assets

Go to Gulag now!
It would make a great board game.
@ColonelCanada that's actually a really good idea , thank you
@AlmostADev yea, a bit like that just a lot more complex
