Hello everyone, since for a while we wish for tracks in the base game for forever, this is my idea for it if it were to be added into a future update. This is only an idea, this may not be in the game in update(s). My goal is just to give my idea out to anyone who wants to read.
So i physically 3d model road wheels, sprocket, and track types.
Lets begin with how these can be customized
So the track has 4 points you can drag out to your appropriate length. Kinda like how you customize the wing in SP, that is how the track size or shape can be changed. As with that road wheels and support rollers can appear or disappear depending on their size.
kind of how Sprocket works
Road wheels
Every tank needs this, without it it won't be nice. These are customizable like Resizable Wheels, such as:
-Min width (0.2m) and max width is the track width set
-Depending on size of the wheel, it'll add or subtract a road wheel to the track
-Can be changed from Rubber or Steel type, does not change performance
NOTE: Idler wheel and support rollers use the same model as road wheel for simplicity.
-Both Idler wheel and support rollers have the same customization as the road wheels
Tracks
Have better tracktion over more area than Resizeable Wheel:
-Rubber pad and Steel type options do not chance performance of the track
-Min width (0.5m, max is 2.0m)
-have collision over bumps when travelling over it
-Track automatically mirrors to the other side
Of what build you're creating
Suspension
This can change performance of the track(s) over some terrain
HVSS
Default suspension when track part is selected. Only Shock and Damper can be changed for strength (%0-250)
Christie
Only Shock and Damper can be changed for strength (%0-250)
Torsion
Torsion has the ability for overlapping road wheels, or hydropneumatic for increasing/decreasing ground clearance, or tilt the vehicle left, right, front, and back!
Loh Ridah!
Up
hold up
@IceCraftGaming
Torsion bars would certainly be interesting. It would actually be more interesting if they added them separately, and that would allow the first truly "elastic" part with multiple degrees of freedom.
this is the best version of 'junroo gib tak trcks now!!1!'
jokes aside, this is so well thought out and I would love to see this implemented.
I do feel we need a better mirror system though, what if you have 3 tracks or a single track for a snowmobile? Does the game just mirror it anyway?
SP2 wen junroo!???!?!?!?!?!?!1
this reminds me of the time the minecraft community kept on nagging mojang to add a cave update
And they did
Im honestly surprised how long the devs have procrastinated implementing tracks, and with players literally giving them everything they need like this it better be soon they are added
@Viper_Z3R0
Ima go ahead request a tag now.
@X99STRIKER oh yea! And in a few hours there's gonna be another teaser or two or upcoming projects
I and many others.
@Viper_Z3R0
It has a good chance to, as I said, it’s well though out and presented.
Perhaps with a little luck the devs will see this.
It would make me very happy if they saw it.
Nice presentation, and just like a few of my past suggestions, instead of saying PLz trAck jUROo, it literally designs how the whole part would function.
@X99STRIKER be funny if this gets a bunch of attention XD
Nice to see someone who actually backed up their proposal with a neat presentation and modelling the parts, nice job!
@rexzion good few weeks of mental planning, then a few days to 3d model the parts. I'm a man who likes to go into detail, instead of Gib Tranck Plz Joondro XD
finally a suggestion that actually explains how it could be added and not just "add track part junroo pls"
Nicely thought out and presented.
