SimplePlanes as a Flight Sim

48 MLGHerobrine  2.6 years ago

Simple question: Can (and how) Simpleplanes be used a flight sim?
What I find unfortunate is the more realistic planes are
a. harder to build (I'm still stuck getting my planes to fly well)
b. laggier
I will be making a suggestion about this, but for the time being, is there a way I can use Simpleplanes as a low-cost flight sim?

SimplePlanes is both a flight simulator, a sandbox, and a building game

@DeveloperKorzalerke I was trying to make a point, how with enough FT anything is possible, and it just happened to be that my planes were a good example.

    Yeah it's very possible
FT makes it easy but it does hamper device performance

I guess? It's not exactly the most realistic game in the world since you can make virtually anything fly, but it's physics are better than most people give it credit for.

My SWL-10 has one of the best cockpits on the website, and the upcoming SWL-120 will be the most detailed and realistic plane ever.

@HuskyDynamics01 You can do ifr flight plans. Waypoints, checklists, nav aids, it's all possible.

That depends on how you define a flight sim. Can you use SimplePlanes to fly various planes around with mostly-realistic-feeling physics and have fun with them? Yep.

Can you do a full IFR flight with nav aids and waypoints, with full checklists? Not really, no. If you're looking for that sort of thing, I'd suggest something along the lines of FlightGear.
