People really still do care about upvotes (I mean, take them seriously ?)
Upvotes and points, for some reason these last weeks I saw more and more people asking for those. Asking if people could get them to platinium or gold, asking people to upvote and trying to make builds that the people out here will like more than the builder themselfs to get some internet points...
I mean, I do like upvotes too, as having points is also nice, I'm proud of being platinium and that most of my builds get a lot of upvotes. But I'm not here to run after them, because I know that they mean nothing, especially points. I can't count the number of platinium players who aren't better or as good as some gold players, or platinium players having almost 100k or 50k with crapy builds. I'm not here to take these guys down, if they enjoy the game everything is alright, I'm here to tell the people who seek points, that it won't mean anything, being plat doesn't make you a good builder, (even more if you had to ask for the updoots). Make builds you like before making another P-51 because people will upvote it. And if you care about my opinion, if one day you get as good as the best players in this game, but without having a lot of points, I will still look are your builds, and not those of a 60k account with poopy builds.
note : I don't consider myself as a good builder, neither a bad one but just a middle skilled players. I'm here just exposing my opinion about points, not other peoples builds compared to mine
@Kennneth I hope I don't sound like I'm Complaining, but a lot of my builds don't get a lot of upvotes. By that I mean most of the time they rarely exceed one digits. And some I put a decent amount of effort(as in detailed cockpits).
People with higher points and higher rank have more power, respect and are taken more seriously. So yes.

Well, while some people may be really obsessed with *pls upvote meh* thing, there is also a front page with highest rated and hottest tab and if your upload gets there it will get more attention, become viral (kinda) and download counter will go brrrt.
Points... Points are pointless. Yes, they can give you an opportunity for some memetic post to celebrate a funneh numbers or ascendance to a new rank.
Plus, upvoting the build means you atleast saw it, i mean, do you remember somebody had built Yamato with over 10k parts, not many could download such a thing (i'm not even talking about playing with it), the only thing most peeps could do with it is upvote and leave a comment.
As i already said points are nothing to me and ups are not a big deal too, it is a part of this website mechanics and nothing more, but that's just my opinion, just me. I enjoy building stuff, i like to push myself for a bit to improve at things, also like to check what others build.

How can I make the font size stay within the textarea in the modal window? It's currently set to 300px, but goes over the boundaries. It should stay inside the textarea. I've tried padding: 5px but that doesn't work.

I keep thing simple, I put hours into something and when i receive good amount of upvotes i will feel happy and just in general keep motivating me to make more build. In the other hand if i got low upvotes i will be sad and lost motivation

@Kennneth If I sounded like someone that wanted to act more enlightened than others well I'm sorry. I was more talking about the fact that people care sometimes a little bit too much, up to the point they make builds more for others than theirself. And as I said, I like getting upvotes too, because as you said when you spend time on something you like when people give you a little something. But I considere that asking upvotes because you think upvotes and they're quantity mean something about the quality of your build is pretty dumb, and more and more people think like that. And the fact that I'm plat or not doesn't affect my point of view, I already had this opinion since I'm gold (before that I wanted upvotes so bad, that's also why I know it's dumb, cause I cared too much).
People want some validation for the hours they put into a build and publishing it in the form of Internet points and compliments... And I don't see anything wrong with that, heck if I get 1 upvote for something I poured hours and hours into, I'd be pretty upset too.
Stop acting like you're somehow more enlightened just because you're a plat, thanks :)
i view upvotes as a way to get your creation to others on the website. they're nice.

I don't care so much about upvotes, I don't see them as something that shows if your build is good or not, but if it's creative or not, I see upvotes as something that shows how that differs from anything that's ever been created here.
Remember, treat the points on this site as they should be treated... A joke

I don’t understand wanting points at all. I mean i prefer the look of silver over gold and plat, thats why i havent made anything recently, i dont want to hit gold
