"Quick" question

Hi I've been wondering, what is it that makes designers of fighters decide to do this or that, like for example slanted vertical stabilizers on the F18, F22, and F35, but not for the fighters like the F15, MiG29 and Su27?. And why some uses twin tails and some only one vertical stabilizers. Or why do certain planes use twin engines and the others use single engines. Or why the Russians decided to use canards and horizontal stabilizers. Why do some fighters also have the plane's nose pointed downwards? Does it perhaps help in improving the aerodynamics of the plane? Or is it for better visibility?

@ZeroWithSlashedO the noise pointing downwards on the flankers are just used to produce the airframe lift

    Alright. Here we go.

    Slanted tails:
They exist mainly to reduce Radar Cross Section.

    Twin tails or single tail:
    Twin tails for more stability.
Single tail to reduce financial issues.

    Twin engines or single engine:
Twin engines for, well, double the thrust.
Single engines to reduce financial issues.

Canards increase stability of the aircraft. They move either according to pitch input, or angle of attack.

    Nose pointed downwards:
That I'm not sure. Probably to reduce drag.
