First of all sorry if this is a little messy writing I did this just for fun and didn’t worry about grammar and all that
All the is my all time favorite plane
About The F-14
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was introduced September 22 1974 and was sadly retired September 22 2006 and was designed after the collapse of the F-111B Program and primarily saw Action in Vietnam fighting MIG fighters 712 F-14s were created and after that in the 90s it saw more action in the Middle East and shot down more than 160 in the Middle East alone that sadly was it’s final use and was later retired in 2006
STATS
Top speed: 1,544 knots
Max altitude: 53,000+
Fuel: 1833 gallons
Range: 1841 miles
Its development started in 1950s but was stoped in 1961 but the navy was still looking for a long range defensive aircraft so they started developing the F-111B that was later canceled and they were looking for a long range defensive aircraft still then they thought of the F-14 again so they started building it in 1968
My opinion
The F-14 is my favorite plane and I wish it was still flying today I feel like it was the most revolutionary aircraft in the history of the US navy it’s a great interceptor

this sums up the F-14 Tomcat history
The F-14 was only good for establishing air superiority. The F-18 and F-35 can do that as well as dogfight and ground pound. Single role fighter aircraft don't work anymore
@ReinMcDeer easily
@BaconEggs I think you're the most knowledgeable tomcat expert on SP tbh
@MrCarrot sorry no.
yes i i know
@LarryTad what do you think?
@ColonelCanada hey can you link this to the chat
@MrCarrot Nice
@X99STRIKER @LarryTad @GildedCroissant hey guys check this out I spent hours researching and writing this
i do agree it was good
but it's outdated now and the only thing that would keep tomcat hopes is if the f-21 super tomcat for the 21st century thingo somehow got back into gear.
which will never happen because fleet defenders are no longer needed... for now
@Zaineman I spent hours researching and writing this
