I've made these two in addition to Race 64, and will be posting them all together sometime in the coming week.
The first one is the original version of one of the most long-lived Mustang racers, NX79111 in its original 1946 stock appearance as Race 77 Galloping Ghost. This Mustang would later be extensively modified into a super Unlimited racer and go on to have one of the longest careers of any racing aircraft, being flown in races all the way through 1989 under several different names. The aircraft was scheduled to participate in Reno 2011 after a long absence, but was destroyed in a tragic accident in a heat race that claimed the life of the pilot and killed or injured approximately 70 spectators, when a trim tab failed and the Mustang crashed into the grandstands.
I have recreated the approximate markings of the Ghost's essentially-stock 1946 Cleveland appearance, the first race of many for this Mustang.
This second nearly-stock Mustang is also quite well-known, but not specifically as a race plane (despite its perpetual presence at Reno from 1971 onward). This yellow Mustang is Bob Hoover's Ole Yeller, the official Reno pace plane. It's essentially a stock Mustang in a highly visible paint scheme, and was also flown by Hoover in many aerobatic demonstrations (including his signature one-wheel landings).

@ReinMcDeer Good idea, though right now I'm focusing more on stock-ish Mustangs since they can all have pretty much the same flight characteristics and therefore be kind of competitive against each other (plus I'm still working on figuring out how to do the modified canopy and turtledeck of some of the less-stock racers yet). I'll definitely keep it in mind though!
