In the great fatherland of German, there lives an aircraft master and expert engineer, no one knowing about his name but he usually known as Spicyninja. One day, Spicyninja without any accident creating some kind of abomination by combining an original F4U Corsair and the Anonymous person's Fossil Corsair. As a result, a strange shaped abomination witchcraft has been created, which is then, it's named as German Corsair.
The witchcraft itself has become viral and controversional along the Jundrooverse because it's ruthless appearance. It's even defeated the popularity of Jundroo Aerospace Tutorial Plane, although Tutorial Plane was the simplest among the simple, the German Corsair still the popular, although the Tutorial Plane and German Corsair still had some clear difference but Tutorial Plane was still in the below of German Corsair.
A single propeller carrier-based warbird, an abomination of F4U Corsair and pressumably the Anonymous Person's Fossil Corsair created by an aircraft master and expert engineer from the Fatherland. This aircraft being controversional and ruthless among the Jundrooverse, this Abomination then mark a new-era of the Jundrooverse which is known as "Germanism", where all Jundrooverse peoples making some adaptation aircraft inspired on this German Witchcraft.
Also, that same dude who thought the German Corsair absolutely deserved all of that attention made his own spin on the said plane. It's pretty cool, check it out here.
Long story short, some user glorified the German Corsair and it got a lotta upvotes.
Some people were absolutely pissed because they thought Spicyninja took absolutely no effort to fetch that many upvotes, but I digress. I don't take SP that seriously.
@Bellcat also probably the P-51 being the most upvotes because how cool it was in the age of something was near impossible to build, notice the landing gear was retracted via vtol and the landing gear was using the old landing gear
The German Corsair was like any other average low-quality builds; it did not get as much attention, nor upvotes as high quality builds are like. When one user made a forum post, claiming that the German Corsair was the “most underrated plane ever” and urging users to upvote it, the other users, being Generation Z with a weird sense of humor, thought that it was funny and upvoted said German Corsair anyways, making it rise to the front page of the “highest rated in all” section. Meanwhile, other users loathed the unprecedented rise of such a low-quality build and started to fight, creating a drama that forced interventions from moderators. Today, it is the second most upvoted aircraft, below a P-51 replica (which I suspect a similar but less destructive drama happened).
.
The resultant chaos is a reminder that the SimplePlanes community has not yet matured away from it’s darker, chaotic past that had a lot of drama. If you look at some older posts, you may see my point... ;)
It was a pretty average plane. Not something you'd expect to get a ton of traffic.
Then a bunch of people started upvoting it as a joke, and hundreds of others jumped onto the bandwagon.
SP being SP, people got mad and said it didn't deserve it's upvotes. The comments got so bad that mods just disabled them. It was quite the drama for a while.
As of now, it is the 2nd most upvoted plane on the site, only behind the P-51D Mustang
