Here's some stuff I think could be done to improve the game and the website, I doubt any of it will actually get added from seeing all the other "add x things" posts, but hey 0.01% is still more than 0 right?
Website
- Fix the Forum tag sorting button to use the correct links instead of the Aircraft page ones.
- Add the "No Honda" thing to the rules page (why isn't it there yet?).
- Improve the "new line" support so I don't have to add []() to space out lines on text.
- Fix tagging older usernames so it works again.
- Add a setting to disable name tagging on the account page, example:
Username Notifications [Enable, Disable or Current only]
Game
- Fix the Undo button or at least disable it by default and add a setting to enable it back with a warning about the bugs.
- Fix the Mirror button, more specifically, the bugs where random parts turn pink after mirroring then changing to a different plane and the one where parts will "mirror" to the same place, effectively duplicating them instead.
- A tutorial update. The current tutorial barely teaches you anything useful, no one uses blocks anymore and most people won't have the patience (or time) to figure out all the more complicated stuff.
- Make Funky Trees more reader friendly, as it is right now, it becomes really hard to read when you have a bunch of different conditions, being able to split the code into multiple lines like with JavaScript would be really useful.
- Some updates to the map, what's the point of building anything if you're so sick of the unchanging map you won't even want to fly it?
And here's the most important but also most unlikely to happen, maybe on a SP2.
- Overhaul the editor. It's a complete mess and most of the bad reviews are because of this, some of the things you'll see on the GOG review page are: "it feels like playing a mobile game with a mouse" and "I couldn't figure out how to make my plane fly".
The devs should really check the reviews (at least the GOG ones) more often, there are plenty of good suggestions there that are over 4 years old by now.
@DeveloperKorzalerke
1. I mean I barely used the undo button so uh, yeagh.
2. Huh. That somehow never happened to me. Lucky.
@ZeroWithSlashedO
1. The undo button will often also displace parts as far as I can remember, although that might be because of the overall floating point glitchness the game has, which might be a problem with Unity itself and not easily fixable.
2. Sometimes the mirror button will fail to mirror a part and will just duplicate it instead, seems to happen more often on parts with wonky attachments like the long pylon.
I don't really understand the website suggestions, as I'm quite dumb, but
Game
I'm gonna be the one who say it, but the undo button is not broken. It does what it needs to do, which is undo. However, the steps that counts to the undo and redo button is when you add to (by dragging the said part from the menu) or remove a part from the designer (I might miss some, if I do, lmk). If you change the properties of the part through overload, say, input, or mass, or drag, it won't count. Same thing with changing the shape of the fuselage. And what I think devs need to do is add these considerations into the undo/redo button. If that makes sense.
TL;DR, these two buttons are outdated.
Honestly, I never ever had issues with the mirror button. Well, maybe other than the fact that the "Can't mirror part because a part already exist there" still exist, I never had issues with it.
I agree broski
This is by far the 2nd thing I wanted most in SP. The terrains in SP is bad, and boring. No canyon runs that looks cool, the mountains on wright looked impossible to traverse, theres no road, cities, just a barren, empty land with a fleet, and a couple of airbases. It's honestly boring. Also, the islands' transition is bad. You would think that there is some sand, but no. It's just... Grass. And stone. No sand.
I have no comment on this one tbh.
For designer, it's mostly fine (because i don't really use it's menus), but two changes i'd like to see is possibility to use Tab/Shift+Tab and spacebar to choose and control input fields/buttons/checkboxes and possibility to switch off screen updates as long as nothing changed. In my opinion it's just stupid to load 80% of GPU while anything stays same.
@DeveloperKorzalerke Oh **, here we go again.
@SheriffHackdogMCPE inhales
HONDA
That should get their attention. @G2 , RUN!
@G2 ban hammer is 100 meters from you and is rapidly approaching
totally agree, this game needs to be updated
@DeveloperKorzalerke that is true but still 10 minutes to make something is a bit on the low end, maybe an hour before deciding how bad a game is, imo
@PhilipTarpley
@MrSilverWolf Most people don't have the time or patience to spend 5 hours trying make something that can fly instead of just playing something else. The physics really aren't all that amazing either, like one guy said how a prop plane he made could do a 90 degree climb like a fighter jet.
@SnoWFLakE0s I hope our equipment can operate smoothly.By this way,the multiple players can make more effect.
@SnoWFLakE0s Thanks
@Deandash
.
Not really. Either you upgrade your processor to something with better single-core performance, or somehow the world of computing figures out how to parallelize things previously considered serial operations.
@SnoWFLakE0s Can't jundroo solve it?
@DeveloperKorzalerke But how to explain the ccomputer's performance only use 50%.
@Deandash
.
You probably have a multicore processor. There is a limit to what operations can be parallelized simply due to how math works.
Maybe Devs should consider adding more writing systems to be supported on labels (especially if you want your aircraft text or label to to be in a different language)
@DeveloperKorzalerke yeah I’m not a computer science major I have no clue what I’m talking about
@Deandash I don't think there's much that can be done about that though since the game has to calculate the physics of every part.
I think they also need optimize the game operation.When I playing craft of many parts or playing Multiple player ,the game's FPS is too easy to down,but my computer indicate the CPU only use about 40%.
@DeveloperKorzalerke Yeah, so people will have choice whether they want to use it or not
@Panzerwaifu69 Making it disabled by default could also work I guess, but the setting for enabling it should at least give a warning about the bugs.
Kinda disagree with the undo button
It is problematic and need to be fixed, but removing it? No
I sometimes helped with the Undo button despite sometimes it doesn't work as it's intended to.
If some people might have trouble using it, just simply add "disable Undo Button" or don't use the button at all, I think It's better than removing it
@Dragoranos Except for the fact that the button has a 50% chance of making the problem worse instead of solving it, so everyone recommends avoiding it anyways. The mirror button is also quite buggy, but it has a higher chance of working properly and the game is unplayable without it, so most players just deal with the buggyness.
