Cockpit Glass Request

15.4k iMxr  2.3 years ago

Hello... I've been trying to figure out how to make the cockpit glass of an aircraft I was making, but to no success. Can anyone help me out here and make the piece of glass to fit on top of the cockpit base, seamlessly, with no overlap or anything? I have some photos and dimensions below of the base...

Dimensions of Cockpit Base:

Rotations:
X Axis: 0 degrees
Y Axis: 0 degrees
Z Axis: -45 Degrees

Sizes:
Height and Width (Rear): 5.25 x 5.25
Height and Width (Front): 2.00 x 2.00
Rise: 1.6
Run: -1.6
Length: 6.00
Corners: Hard (All)

If anyone gets this, please just let me know if you're willing to help. It'd be very much appreciated...

Thanks,
iMxr

@IceCraftGaming It just becomes almost one sided.. Also it still gives the mouth-like look to it.

@iMxr hm.. what happens when you increase the percentage (Both front and back)?

I did 75% for the base part, then 25% for the supposed glass and that's the result.

@IceCraftGaming Yeah, I checked. It's leaving like a mouth-like gap between the two pieces. I can add it on to this post to show you.

@iMxr hm... after mirroring, did you remove all connections from the mirrored part? If you didn't, it could interfere with certain things

@IceCraftGaming Not going so well.. I've tried many ways and it's still not shaping correctly. It leaves a gap between the two pieces.
    Idk what to do.

@iMxr you can however let me do it, but it will take a while since I'm busy. You might end up receiving it late tomorrow.

@iMxr so.. lets say that your fuselage cut is like.. vertical/top 90%
Click on that front fuselage, mirror it, and do bottom 10%
Then go the the XML properties and change the part type to the glass.. part type.. (I forgot what it's exact ID was so you might wanna get some glass and check out it's ID

just mirror it and "invert" the mirrored fuselage, and use the XML editor to change it into glass
