just wondering if amongst all of the new xml tricks being discovered over the last year if anyone has figured out how to create a turret that can sit on the back of an AI -controlled bomber aircraft (that just flies in one direction and has no wing control surfaces) that can aim weapons at the player's aircraft and try to defend itself
cheers
My small brain knows that auto rotating turrets exist, but I'm not sure how you'd get a cockpit working on one to actually fire at you
would require massive amounts of ft and auto aim systems, and also rotating cockpits
@rexzion good idea but anyone had an idea how to make it?
i should try making one of those
Well I have made This before, but it uses cannons instead of guns, and doesn’t exactly work the best either
This would be possible if we could edit the input for guns/cannons
@Weaverfish if you put a cockpit on an auto aim turret it won’t work
@asteroidbook345 Yes and that can be worked with if you put the cockpit on the turret next to the gun, and then have the gun orientating itself to aim at enemies, the cockpit will then command the aircraft to fire the guns, right?
Well, there have been a few AI-controllable ground-based turrets (this one comes to mind), so theoretically one of those could be stuck to a plane and modified to work from the air. Don't think I've seen anyone do this before, though.
No.
AI only shoot when they're facing you roughly
