Developers, I have an idea. What should happen is when you guys feel like SP is good to go and the game is "finished", you guys should make another website, SimpleBoats, and make a game! I've seen SOO many boat-related posts, this could GREATLY improve the fan-base here..
Have fuselage parts going up to 20x and length of 20, then lights, pontoons, guns, cannons, missiles, etc! Including PRE-MADE search planes and etc.
Please do expand and comment on this, maybe we could see this in the next few years
@HellFireKoder dude why can't multiplayer be on mobile cuz infinite flight
@Squirrel I agree
It could plug in the basic plane parts with advanced boat parts ie: blocks guns wings (possibly) and no jets or curent props. Make new props for giant cargo ships and small ones for speed boats!
While all these are interesting ideas, you guys should take into account that this game is secondary to every one else's lives and so it is for the developers. You shouldn't expect them to work on it day and night.
They should just integrate it all into simple planes and change its name to some thing "simple universe".
The could structure it so the parts are split into categories, like:
- Automotive
- Aerospace
- Nautical
- Space
Perhaps the sandbox asks for what vehicle your making and presents the relevant parts primarily, while optionally still having access to the other parts.
Would be cool if you could download maps as well as vehicles too, would make this game a bit more interesting.
@AnarchistAerospaceIndustries simpleplanes should be part of simplecars
@iFalco SIMPLETANKS YESSSSSSSS
@AnarchistAerospaceIndustries But... but... but... ok fine...
If they make SimpleBoats, they need to have waves, otherwise it really couldn't add much more than SP now that we have fuselage blocks... pretty much what it could add is, boat propellers, and some parts to make the boat builder easier/faster...
Oh, and underwater! SUBMARINES!!!
On a side note, they have been planning SimpleRockets 2, though they aren't sure if it'll be the next game or not...
@NovaTopaz @NovaTopaz @PuhBuhGuh @HellFireKoder @UnstableOrbit @XVIdarkLithium @General360 Everyone SHUT UP about consoles.. christ! Expand on this idea I came up with! Stop arguing like 5 year olds and DEBATE, COLLABORATE on this like teenagers and above ages..
@XVIdarkLithium Dude, most console games have stupidly high optimization SO THAT IT CAN RUN ANYTHING! Seriously, out of all the platforms today, consoles and mobile consoles(PSP, 3DS, to be more specific) need the highest optimizations of any of the others, INCLUDING MOBILE! Also, bullet physics are simple, and don't even need that much. It can simply be a ray. So yeah.
@AnarchistAerospaceIndustries I would prefer a car game, I simply love cars and want to get more technical with different tires and suspensions.
@HellFireKoder @XVIdarkLithium @UnstableOrbit @General360 The problem for me about putting any game like this on console, all work aside, is controls. I really think it would be very difficult to build planes with joysticks, cmon.
@NovaTopaz Unity supports PS3, PS4, PSVita, Xbox360, Xbox One, and Wii U.
Source.
Also, during the year after release of PS4, Sony gave out tons of PS4 devkits to Indies, and they pretty much let you sign up as a developer if they think your game will work (and prosper) on PS4 and you have proper qualifications (and in this case, all the games Jundroo has successfully launched count as qualifications). For Xbox One you literally email them and you usually become a dev (well, you need to go through screening before publicly publishing, but you can start development straight away).
they could probably get a new game on Consoles with little issue...
Though I agree they shouldn't because it's a ton more work and SDKs they'd need to deal with.
@UnstableOrbit Again consoles have much higher specs thay most phones, Plenty of console games are much more extreme than SP for example bf4 has bullet physics that run with massive fights even in campaign so not all sever side
@XVIdarkLithium Look at the fiasco with the latest update being horribly delayed for mobile users as the devs try to get the guns working well on them. Now, add a bunch of consoles to that and you have something that not only takes more resources(since they now have to develop on consoles), but also COMPOUNDS THE GODDAMN PERFORMANCE PROBLEMS.
@UnstableOrbit Hardware limitations on a console? The ps4 and xbox one have better specs than almost all if not all phones, and a chuck of pcs have shitty specs that can run the game.
Android can... @AnarchistAerospaceIndustries
Battleship craft is a great game for Ipods and other I devices. Its pretty much what you have been stating in the description.
How about make this game more like KSP. So like Kerbal Space Program, it starts off with the rockets and all, but then you can make planes and cars
@General360 XBOX????? You DO realize that putting it on console means a ton more work, and limits the game's ability to grow because of hardware limitations, right?
@General360 Uhh... Not really possible. Nintendo doesn't accept indie developers, at all. Sony is also pretty strict when it comes to indie games, and would likely not even make it to the PS4(or whatever they are on now). Not to mention that Unity is incompatible with most console systems, portable or not.
@AnarchistAerospaceIndustries Uhh... It wouldn't really matter. Simple Warships, when it's done, will probably NEVER run on a mobile device(except maybe high-end mobile devices). And Mac can't get it either(though it could probably run it fairly well), so your point? And android... Maybe, but it'd likely be only the guns or smtg. Really, APPLE is the problem here, not that mobile can't get mods. They can, but iOS is very tightly restricted by apple, as is Macbook. Modding is nearly impossible because of their fears. And as of 8.3+, modding is utterly impossible without editing backups for the device or using a JB'ed device. With OS X, at least you can get to the game files. With iOS, you can't even do THAT without extreme difficulty, as of 8.3+. I mean, I do agree with you, but there has already been progress to getting a functional working game that may or may not develop independently of SP at some point. Throwing it out would be a waste of work for the person making it.
@General360 for Xbox? What about everybody else? Who have no video game systems?
@NovaTopaz but for the mobile users? Hmmm?? There's my point, Mobile can't download mods.
Well, Unstable Orbit is already making a Simple Warships mod for SP.
