Need some assistance

195 Zeezal  8.9 years ago

My latest plane is having issues with receiving air to the engines I have placed at the back. I'm fairly new to this game and unsure whether there is anyway I can resolve this issue without having to strap air intakes on the outside of the aircraft? I've tested the aircraft by strapping engines on the exterior to see if it flies and it does but I want to keep the appearance as accurate to the jet I've replicated.

@Skua yeah feel free to do as you please I only got the game last week so I'd imagine I've made plenty of mistakes that can be improved on.

@Zeezal would you mind if I swapped the engines out? I reckon I can get it up to speed but I'll need to make a few changes. It's a very big plane you've built

@Skua yeah I'm looking at getting the speed up to what it can actually achieve irl. Still looking forward to seeing yours anyway.

@Zeezal the version I've got has all of the ballast engines and fuel tanks removed and can do about 400mph, but I feel like that's not really enough for a Lightning

@Skua hey no prob cheers for helping. I've sort of started to get it working now but it' still lacking power and the nose looks worse now. https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/0NUNPe/English-Electric-Lightning-v3

@Skua I did attempt this but it wasn't having any of it for some reason. I think there is an engine or two still hidden in the front of the aircraft that I was using as counterweights to bring the center of gravity closer to the center but when trying to get one inside of the front nose I was having no luck.

If an engine is uncovered at the front, it counts as an intake too. You could clip a J90 in to the nose and use that
