3 years of experience building and modeling airplane, helicopters, tanks, etc.
Its really taking my patience out and making me lazy sometimes since making a smooth fuselages of an airplane or helicopters takes alot of try and input to make them perfect or at least looks good.
Only in Simple Planes i taken 5-10 minutes to make a smooth curve for a cockpit or a plane body because how clunky the building mechanic are. Compared using 3D Modeling software that only takes less than 2 minutes.
If the Developer could implement modelling technique of 3D modeling software like Blender or 3DS it should improve the overall game quality.
skill issue
@NathanMikeska
I think they are not accurate when building small things in my opinion. This is more personal than an actual game issue.
i.e i spell it wrong, I don't think the SR2 builder controls are worse, I just prefer the SP ones.
If one thing has to be improved is the auto stabilization, it woobles the rocket quite a bit.
@Dragoranos What specifically about this was worse in SR2 than it was in SP?
@DeezDucks Something that can make resizing easier or even a slider for it

If it were added however, there would be many problems like drag, weight, and hitbox calculation.
You have a problem with it?
Ok.
This game is like 8 years old or so now right?
The UI is nice and simple, great for a general audience.
The UI I think should have multiple settings - perhaps one to integrate that free form modelling instead of the current kind of xyz form we have with the fuselage blocks.
Perhaps integrate the cutting stuff (so that you can do builds more efficiently, something like a Catalina would be amazingly easy) that CAD has could be added too that’d be cool.
I 100% agree, however, that's not the point of simpleplanes.
Or you could just use blender and make planes for X Plane
3D modeling stuff would probably be incredibly hard to implement because of physics, but an update that makes it easier to build pretty planes would be nice (although I have no idea what that update could be, maybe better tutorials?).
If this is added, I hope it's not like in SR2...
In fact, if added it would probably be in SimplePlanes 2
@PlaneFlightX We have found a glitch in the matrix
@AnOmalOcaris As someone making a 109, I can say it is possible without paneling.
noob
Not so
But the problems that I could avoid is the Bf 109 back portion that blatantly uses panelling
So you're asking for a CAD program?
@ReinMcDeer Wait a minute, I didn't get tagged when you replied.
SimplePlanes
The builder we have is great for a general audience to pick up the game and build something semi-decent/accurate, but a more advanced option would be cool.
@PlaneFlightX Basically this
Meanwhile me who has no idea how to use blender to do anything other than join meshes and finds SP easy and fun to use.
You’re only taking 5-10 minutes? I’m taking hours to make a cab for a train!
Would be cool, but maybe not gonna happen. Maybe an import .OBJ file mod or something.
@CoolPeach I would like to see this implemented in the next generation of SimplePlanes
I would think that this type of overhaul could constitute an entirely new game, in other words, having freeform modelling is a huge effort and would not be feasible in the current game
