The website-forum secretprojects.co.uk has a ton of pictures of unbuilt projects, and I found literal gold that I could build in SP.
Here's a Boeing Flying Wing Appreciation post
This one is a twin-engine fighter powered by Ranger V-770 inline.
This one is the Model 306B, a fighter purportedly powered by an Allison and has 4 meter diameter propeller.
Will be built if profiles of Curtisses XP-18 and 19 are non-existent.
For me, I think the Model 306B could have a chance to serve USAAC service in a what-if situation as an interceptor. Flying wings in theory has more lift than drag (thick ones says otherwise) but is laterally unstable in flight. As seen, it the 306B has rudders at wingtips to provide yaw contributing to more stability in theory.
We'll test out if the hypothesis of decreasing instability on flying wings by putting a rudder is true or not.
Indeed, the site is a treasure trove of inspiration.
I discovered this site 2 days ago, but forgot about it. Thanks!
I’ll definitely have to consider checking it out!
