What does "Hellkeska" mean?

24.2k RobertsAeronautics  2.2 years ago

We all know the Hellkeska default aircraft, but has anyone actually wondered what the word means? If someone knows, please say in the comments.

@Scratchoza I think the Hell part could be in reference to the missiles it carries, being Infernos (analogs for HELLfires)

I have no idea what the "Hell" part was from, but I think the "keska" part was from "Nathan Mikeska" who's one of the devs.

@LocalDealer the Tornado is a tandem two seater. That's not to say it was originally named after it though because the Hellkeska was also tandem two seat before the cockpit update.

How did you find out his dad was a Huey pilot? And Gator could have been a nick name given to the helicopter he was assigned to @Kittyhawk208

Ngl i really think that the original Hellkeska looks more like a tornado than a Fencer
And the name kind of sounds similar to Tornado, context-wise.

The Pigpen was names after Andrew Garrisons dad who was a Huey pilot. His call sign was Pigpen. I believe the Gator was also named after someone.

In Simpleplanes, the developers named their replicas with names other than the vehicles they were meant to represent, due to trademark reasons. These names were usually named after some aspect of the vehicle, for example, WASP for the F-18 Hornet, as a wasp is a similar aggressive bee like the hornet is. As for hellkeska, it seems to be applied to the plane’s many bombs that could cause hellish conditions for the enemies bombed.
