I fell like the air-to-ground missile (inferno) is kind of useless, I would like to suggest some kind of level where you would only fight ground enemies! And I would like to see a ground vs ground battle, so we could se some of the ground creations in action!
@RocketLL Bombing aides are essential, We need something like CCIP in the hud to able able to predict where the bombs hit.
Try the uss beast and the missile launchers at snow stone island
@XVIindustries I'm thankful that the aiming systems were inaccurate. That probably saved a lot of human casualties.
Lol all done with clockwork and timing, and even then they were terribly innacurate and that's why the bombardier was there, for using a bombsight, there are two differences between ww2 American bombers and ww2 British bombers, and the first is the method of bomb aiming, and the second is the use, the Brits had a complex timing system and sometimes Mosquitos flew ahead of the main formation and dropped flares to show them where to drop, and the Americans used their ingenious bombsight that let the bombardier fly the plane to aim, the other difference is that we operated mainly at night as our bombers lacked sufficient defences, and the American bombers had lots o guns lol, so yeah, look up the Bombe, and colossus computers and they are really the first non mechanical ones, they have both operational in their original army sheds lol, and I've been there and both extremely interesting machines for breaking the enigma and Lorenz codes used by the nazis basicly how we won the main land battles of the war cause we knew where their tanks would be lol, but yes, the mechanism can be classified as a computer bug it is only a mechanical one! :) @RocketLL
Sounds like it has a mixed origin. Obviously it wasn't invented for only 1 use. Sources says it was used for Artillery calculations and deciphering. @XVIindustries
Amazing how they used these clunky things to aim bombs, the early ones look like they're fully analog.
But I don't see how
Not really..... Electronic computers were derived from code breaking computers from WW2 the mechanisms in bombers were all mechanical for calculating distance even the avro Vulcan in the Falklands raid had a mechanical targeting system, basicly it takes into account speed and altitude and you put in a target and you get a counter when it reached 5 you started dropping the Bombs when it reached 0 half of your load was gone and then when you had finished bombing the mechanism was reset @RocketLL
@Skua @XVIindustries
Also, come to think of it, that's how computers came to be in the first place, for calulating the trajectories of artillery and bombs.
@RocketLL I calculate it I imagine in my head my altitude and speed and then when I should release the bombs, it all depends on altitude and speed really, the lower and slower the easier it is to hit a target, but remember if you are using a ww2 bomber like a b17 or Lancaster and you miss, that's fine cause you are in a formation of 100 other bombers so essentialy you get a carpet bomb effect
@RocketLL I think XVI was more or less right about quantity over quality
@Skua Exactly, how do they do it in real life? Do they calculate it?
@XVIindustries I thought that was a bit weird. You're right about the bombs, I can't aim any of the dumb weapons for love nor money. I nearly missed the bridge going lengthways when I was testing General360's A-10
Bombs are only useful if you know what you are doing, and even then they aren't that accurate, but that's why you have lots of bombs in bombers so you don't Just miss entirely lol, @RocketLL
It does he hasn't looked @Skua
But thanks
There is no bomber scort mission in my device
And
I already did!
Inferno missile for some reason are no locking in the ai at bridge demolition
@iagoblack In sandbox mode there are no targets, but check out the missions with AI.(Bomber Escort, Bridge Demolition, etc)
@RocketLL i know! At least in mobile, we don't have what to shot then at..
Rocket pods and bombs cam me used without lock, but infernos need an ai to lock so they are kinda useless because we dont have things to shoot (my opinion)
@iagoblack Why is the Inferno useless? The Rocket Pods are hard to aim, and the Bombs are even harder to aim. The Inferno is guided making it easier to use.
Another thing that would solve the "problem" would be the capacity of adding enemies/ai to the normal sandbox (like a game seting).
@DeezDucks sure it's called simplePLANES"! But we have a ton of creations that are not planes, like: boats, mechs, thanks, helicopters, etc. So I think it would be a good think to ad to the game.
Lol...but he has a point...why have air to surface missiles without anything to Michael bay? But still lol@DeezDucks
Does the mobile beta not have ground targets in the missions? The Bomber Escort, Bridge Demolition, and Missile Training missions all have ground targets on PC
"SimplePLANES"
