I regret to inform you that at 11:07.38 on the 05/11/2022, Captain Bob “Camo” Ranch of the DeejeX 12th Ultra-Hornet Division of the Imperial Sellish Federation Navy, was reported missing with his last reported position being 3.84 miles away from the Ice Base on Snowstone Island. He was sent on a special mission to destroy the Ice base by G Aviation Command. He would leave from the USS Beast, an allied aircraft carrier operating around the Wright/Krakabloa area. At 10:33.04 that morning he left from the USS Beast’s one catapult launcher with a full load of extra fuel, missile, bombs and countermeasures. He went into the active war zone at 11:04.53 and radioed in his final transmission: “USS Beast [His Mission Control] this is Camo. I’m in the war zone and I can see the missile launchers and lasers. I will use the Painters [LR-ASM-1 Painter] first. Camo out.”

When he launched the second LR-ASM-1 Painter, the Ice Base’s Surface-to-air tactical laser system (STATLS) started up. The first of two destroyed the first missile, sending shrapnel into the engine, and 3 seconds later, the second missile launched and 0.4 seconds after that the second laser fired and destroyed the missile. This severely damaged the modified F/A-18-G/X Ultra-Hornet. 2 seconds later an enemy SAM locked onto him and fired. The defensive countermeasure system was damaged in the initial explosion, so couldn’t be used; the only thing Camo could do was evade. Unfortunately the structure of the aircraft was also damaged and he tore his left wing in 3 places and his right wing in 2. The missile rushed towards him and struck the left engine of the aircraft, tearing its rear portion off. This is where the story gets confusing. Camo could have either been killed, ejected or gone down with the plane. His Personal Automatic Locater Beacon (PALB) cut out and so we don’t know what happened next. High Command reported him “Missing In Action - Assumed Dead”.

Anyway time for a tease lol

I found a Top Gun: Maverick version of the F/A-18E/F a while ago and LOVED flying it (I can’t find it anywhere so rights for fuselage and cockpit go to original builder. BTW it was based on Jundroo’s Wasp, so yeah), so I put in an ejector seat and mucked about with it and had lots of fun. So I will upload the new one today. Not gonna lie it’s not that different but still really cool.
