I've made a lot of promises over my career on this site, the most recent example being a tournament of my airplanes, but I came up with something that I don't think has been done here on the site.
So after I was reminded of Speed Racer's existence by SpartanSR91's Mammoth Car build, I got the Idea for a possible project.
So Speed Racer had a live action adaptation done in the mid 2000s, and the racing machines there were known as T180s. What makes these cars stand out is their ability to rotate their wheels 180 degrees via an overhead bearing (I'd assume) rather than a conventional steering column. This allows T180s to rotate freely independent of their actual direction of motion. A very handy feature when you're hurtling along a spaghetti track at 400+ mph.
I figured I'd try and build a chassis for one of these and possibly even a full blown machine.
So I'm gonna try my hand at a "T180"

I will also take this opportunity to point out how awesome the tie-in video game for that movie is.
Update: I have a working controlable mock up of the idea. it could use some slight improvement but it is functional
