This is the BB-55 North Carolina, a North Carolina-class fast battleship, and the first vessel of it's type built under the Washington Naval Treaty iirc.
This ship holds a special place in my heart, as it's the only battleship I've ever gotten the opportunity to see in person. It currently rides at anchor in Wilmington, North Carolina.
This ship went on multiple fire support and carrier escort missions, taking a torpedo in 1942 from the Japanese submarine I-19. She's proven her worth as a formidable fighting vessel.
She's nicknamed the Showboat, and I think she's damn deserving of it.
A BB-55 build by yours truly is in the cards, and hopefully will be done relatively soon.

@ColonelCanada I am aware of the warcrimes being committed in ukraine, I will add a disclaimer in my bio that i do not support russian actions. Russia is a beautiful country with terrible leadership, you are correct. Russia is doing some fucked up stuff in Ukraine, and it's truly sad. Most russian people aren't like this, it's the leaders.

@ColonelCanada Russia only wants its territory to be maintained, it destroys Ukraine because Ukraine wants to join NATO, if Ukraine enters NATO, Most likely NATO weapons were transferred to Ukraine because its territory was very close to Russia, if NATO was made to compete with the Soviets, then why are they They are still holding on until now?

Russia is committing atrocious war crimes in Ukraine. Russia is a horrible place not only to live but just in general.

All the Iowa class and South Dakota class battleships (except USS South Dakota) are also museums
Haven't been to them though, but I definitely want to in my lifetime
