So last year I posted how I build model trains using tinkercad. It seems i've gotten quite good at it......
1/1 replica good.
So imma, recall on the MANY things you might find interesting.
Toy train
This is the locomotive where i left off on the other post. Made in spring 2022, it is small locomotive with optional motorisation. Turns out i used the wrong motor, wich caused constantly burned- out motors. This one was not a sucess.
Lickey Banker 0-10-0
This locomotive (Also known as Big Bertha)
is one of the projects i started begin summer 2022. It is quite big and has a lot of blind flanges so it can traverse curves better, also greatly reducing pulling power in curves. The first try did not work, with a too big of a frame and wheels that were not wide enough, it realy couldn't traverse an inch without it derailing, however after a redesign of the wheels and chasis, it now runs happily around the track without any problems.
Triang R35
This is a 1/1 scale replica of a model train i own. It runs very good, just like the original. The only visible thing i measured incorrectly are the tanks, wich are 5 milimeters lower than the original. Giving it a weird look, it looks the same as the original, The ilusion disappears when it is put next to the replica, built in late summer 2022
Ffestnog railway 0-4-0ST-T
This a narrow gauge locomotive i built in begin autunm. It is small and used pla axles instead of copper ones, this was done due to the copper axles getting loose over time. The experiment was a sucess and it works great, but due to it benig light, it couldn't even pull even one wagon, due to not having any weight.
Paget locomotive
This is a project i buillt in begin autunm, it is a 2-4-0 Turbine steam engine, it has an average pullingpower and complex rods. It is also very chalenging to keep running.
Caledonian Single
So this is a locomotive i also made in begin autunm, it is way more simple than the engine that came before. It glides quite gracefully along the track and is an extremely smooth runner.
Pensylvania CLass P5
So this is the P5, a rigidframe electric locomotive from the early days of well, electrics. This beauty was made in mid autunm and runs good too, the only thing to look out for is to add a lot of metal weights, so it does not derail.
Andrey Andreev 20
So this is the AA-20, basicly a communist version of the big boy. Mine is probably one of the only model train replicas wich you can buiild by yourself.
It has amazing pullingpower, questionable reliability in curves and pretty big. Almost too big to fit in my ender 5 3d printer.
Metropolitan Vickers class 28 Co-Bo
So this is my class 28. It works probably the best of any locomotive and is probably the loudest too at 60 DB (NO joke)
. Great pulling power, amazing curvework and has a 1/1 scale perfect representation of the locomotive. Even the reliability part. Bad at first, perfect later on.
Camelback locomotive 2-6-0
So this is my camelback, it is big, bulky and looks teriffic. Its simple so it doesn't need mutch maintanance to run.
NS 1000
So this is my newest one, still in the making and almost ready to print, a task i must do tomorrow, since it is getting late.
@winterro hmm so it works , building a small aircaft carrier model peice by piece , takes to much time
@DISHWASHER2005 yeah, i tried, when you try to put any SP creation in tinkercad it looks like that stock cheese image
have you ever tried using simpleplanes to make the design then 3D print it ?
Now that is awesome!
I love Tinkercad! Great models!
Is that Tinkercad? Great models btw
Nice.
Anyways, out from the trains section but is in the SP to Scale Model, FreeCAD partially works—
Train
That's really cool
