I recently downloaded the following aircraft and was amazed to find a working reflex sight. Of course it doesn't actually function by reflecting light however the arrangement of the glass and the small targeting reticle allows for a realistic enough imitation. I tried swapping out the stock targeting reticle (which was a fuselage piece) for a heads-up display (text label), keeping everything else untouched, however this proved unsuccessful and the text label wouldn't disappear when looking at the sight from high angles. It seems as though the reflex effect only works when the reticle is a fuselage part, and not a text label.
Does anyone know of any other way to replicate this 'reflex' effect in the game? If I can manage to solve this problem and replace the stock reticle with my own customized text label, I will have a proper functioning HUD and take one more step towards Simple Combat Simulator.
If you're confused by my explanation, try downloading the aircraft to gain a better understanding.
@DrMinh
It’s been over a year since your last post, but hopefully you’re still active
Have you made any headway on the version with labels?
@fpvrick7 yup, that's in fact a problem
@ollielebananiaCFSP True, in theory that could work, but not in the way I would like it to. Perhaps that would work OK on PC, but I was recently gifted a Meta Quest 2 and have since downloaded SPVR. Using FT and making text vanish depending on its offset would not work in a VR environment.
I think that it could work with text label and some FT. Since you can make text vanish with the right FT lines, you could create something that just vanish depending on its offset
@DrMinh Thanks for the explanation, I'll definitely check out your builds. Its a shame to hear that this cannot be achieved in the game yet, however I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future.
As for the text label reflector, it's still being worked on, maybe in the future I'll have a full version.
it only works on glass fuselage and the condition to make it disappear there are 2 ways one you can refer to on my yak 3 or mig 17 the other way (more improved allowing more moving angle of view) can be found at the A6m2 by me.
