I really want to make a P-51D-20-NA Mustang, but not just any p51, that would be boring. I want to make a p51 that has an airframe with individual parts, a custom made Merlin engine with working pistons, maybe a supercharger, but I’m not that smart, sheet metal to go over it, custom made guns, and a 100 percent accurate cockpit with all mechanisms. I want it to be completely true to life, and fly well. I know this is simpleplanes, but I want to make the most complicated, realistic plane imaginable. To give me another joker card to my hand, look at all my builds that are trash. Not self advertising, just saying look how trash I am. Despite this, I want as minimal help as possible, if I need any, I will let volunteers know. Now, back to the main question. Is this even possible, and should I even try to continue?
I’m doing this to get good, make me more patient and give me attention to detail, it’s just a fun project running in the background of my life, when I finish, I’ll finish, if I don’t, I don’t I’ll just go back to making meme @ollielebananiaCFSP
get good first, then you'll understand that SP isn't the right stuff for this kind of project.
@IMFLYINHERE
"I love ambition, I really do, but in this business you need to walk before you run" kinda applies here. Also most players will not be able to run something like that so it might not be really appreciated
Oh its possible, even a complex damage model is possible, but it wouldn't playable to other players, unless its only 2 - 3k parts then yeah some can play with it
No simulator is ever perfect
Blender is on PC (Windows,Mac,Linux)
Uhhh I don’t know how to do that I’m on iPad @RekamtihGaming
@PlaneFlightX that's what I assumed, unless they release an ios version of Unity lol
What did he say? @ToeTips
@32 I did actually make a tutorial, but if @IMFLYINHERE is on iPad then it's not possible.
Use Blender 3D to make the plane or make the plane frame in Simple Planes.....and then export into Blender 3D,from there you can add your engine ,interior.. basically everything to make a 1:1 replica to it's real life counterpart
This reminds me of what Gordon Ramsay said
I would recommend finding some blueprints and making a 300-500 part replica before you consider making an ultra high part count craft.
It is possible, however I would recommend modeling it all in Blender or something then exporting different parts into SP as mods. This is obviously not ideal, but it is probably the only way to make hyperrealistic creations. If this is a viable option for you, @PlaneFlightX (sorry for the tag) has more information I believe. I have heard that you are on iPad, so this is probably unlikely for you.
I was thinking about a year too, but I’m on an iPad and it will probably explode @HuskyDynamics01
Trying to model every last detail (down to the internals of the engine) is already a hugely daunting prospect, and SimplePlanes would just make everything easily 20 times harder.
@IMFLYINHERE Hmm.......
Uh. If you were to work on it 24/7/365 without any breaks, you could probably get it done in about a year. Maybe. I honestly have no idea how long it would take. The engine alone would at least take a month nonstop, plus however long it takes to make it move properly.
Ok, thanks, if i were to do it, how long do you think it would take @HuskyDynamics01
Just for kicks and giggles @rexzion
I'd recommend using some other 3D modeling software rather than SP for this, the amount of parts this would take would be actual insanity
Uhhhhh......
In theory, this is theoretically possible. A fully-modeled, fully-functioning engine is technically possible to do, as are the other parts (at least modeled; the radiator still wouldn't do anything, for example).
I admire your dedication and high ambitions, but this project would quite literally be a million or more parts (since you can't make each piece of a Mustang with just one piece in-game due to fancy shapes and whatnot), and quite frankly I don't believe even NASA would be able to make that work on their supercomputers.
its possible but not playable
