Just had a slightly disappointing experience while messing around with the Krakabloa convoy. It turns out that the trucks (and presumably the tanks) despawn when the player is far enough away from Krakabloa itself - likely at the point that the archipelago is no longer rendered by the game (which is a short distance beyond when the island is no longer visible) - rather than when the player is far enough away from the individual convoy vehicle. This makes sense from a code perspective, as the convoy is "tied" to the island and there would normally be no reason to have the Krakabloa convoy anywhere other than Krakabloa. Still, it's an interesting little nuance about how the convoys work, one that I wasn't aware of prior to a few minutes ago.
In short, the next time I try to Skycrane a convoy truck onto the deck of the USS Beast for fun, it seems that I should wait until the carrier is about seven or eight miles farther north!
@Micmekox Yeah, they also occasionally spawn up by the wind farm. What I'm not sure about is if it's all one really long route or if there's multiple possible paths. I think the wind farm one might be its own thing that just loops around the wind farm, because I have no idea how the convoy would get up/down from the lower parts of Maywar. All the spawns in the general vicinity of the village/pyramids are one route, though I haven't fully mapped out where it goes yet.
Sometimes they have spawned right by my side in front of the Maywar village
@HuskyDynamics01 One of the spawns on Maywar is literally the ubication of "Maywar Takeoff". Other is past the village and the Pharaon's garden. And another one at the other side of the bay near the Pharaon's garden.
@CL125 There's a convoy of 1-3 AA tanks and a varying number of trucks that loops through the canyons in the center of Krakabloa, as well as one that spawns in a few places around Maywar that I haven't fully mapped out yet. I'm surprised you haven't seen the Krakabloa one, but the Maywar one is harder to spot sometimes.

@32 This ship controller could also use the player-controlled AI feature I discovered if the despawn AI button despawns convoys.
You could spawn something like this on the beast, but maybe XML edit it so that the magnets are AG8. Then you don't have to wait as long. How useful this is depends on whether or not “Despawn All“ also despawns convoys.
