It's now been over a year since I posted any big projects, and well, I'm not dead. So here's a little progress update I guess.

1. Antonov AN-2

This is by far my biggest project to date. It already has nearly 2000 parts and it has basically no interior yet.
I'm gonna be honest, my perfectionism is kinda getting in the way if this build. Im seriously procrastinating with this. My progress speed with this is like, working on it for one evening every 2-4 weeks, which is really really slow.
Also I want to make a custom cockpit, but that's gonna involve making my own gauges (especially for the attitude indicators) and I really can't be assed doing that. shudders at how daunting the interior will be to build

2. Scout Weka VR

As you may have noticed, my Scout Weka has some issues, such as it being 1.8x bigger than it should be, and it has some headlight flickering caused by the 1.12 update. Also there's no offroad version lol
As soon as V1.12 was released, I got to work revamping my Scout Weka, and then lost motivation, then got a 4WD irl, and while waiting to pick it up I got motivation to work on it again, then I got my car and drove that around instead of building my Weka lol.
The main reason my Weka is so huge is because if I made it 1:1 scale, the suspension would be pointlessly floppy and lame. Fortunately in 1.12 they added control bases, which can be made to work as ball joints. Initially I was reworking the suspension by replacing all the rotators in the suspension with control bases, but that was a really annoying task, and it would have been easier to just make entirely new suspension. Which is what I am now doing.
Also the other reason the original Weka has so many god damn parts is because of the gauge cluster and stuff. That stuff still needs replacing.

3. Scout Miromiro

Basically the twin version of the Miro. This is probably the plane that's gonna get released next. It's pretty close to finished, though I need to rework the panel. I think I'm just gonna steal TheCatBaron's instruments XD

4. C-46.

I haven't touched this for over a year and a half. The landing gear on this thing is real complicated to make accurately and I am too much of a perfectionist to not make it correctly XD
Idk if this will be released now, but if I feel like building the C-46 some time in the future, I would definitely go back to finish this build because it is really good lol.

VR versions of my Kea and Eagle

My Kea is kinda getting an overhaul for realism improvement and ergonomics, while my Eagle is probably just gonna get some usable joysticks and an instrument panel.

Life update

Despite being a trainee in the RNZAF, I actually have heaps of free time. Machining is really fun and easy. If you're good at building in SP and wondering what job you should get, I would immediately recommend becoming a machinist because building in this game is basically the same as machining. Also being a machinist, in my country the polytech courses are free and there's heaps of apprentice opportunities, and there's job shortages for machinists, so it's easy to find a job once you get an apprenticeship, and you get paid heaps in the civvy world.
I also recently purchased a real awesome computer which is very nice. Specs should easily last me over a decade lmao. Let's just say MSFS at 60fps at 1440p lol. If only the WiFi in my barracks was more than 1mbit/s lol.
There isn't really anything preventing me from building. I've just moved on a bit in my interests I guess. Lately I've mostly been playing MSFS, BeamNG and VR Chat and going out and doing irl stuff in my free time.
