Meet Constable Gennady Barashankov, the constable who risked his own life to boost the morale of his colleagues in one of the mobile outposts there. Ever wondered where he gets the morale boosters? He just gets them from a nearby bar, which served as an evacuation area for the residents.
Cst Barashankov stated to the press that he "just wanted to brighten the spirits of his team". His superior, Sergeant Patrice Bendickson, gave him the Hero of the City State medal for "improving the team's morale in the midst of great chaos".
