It has been more than a year since the last simpleplanes update, and it’s very sad. Simpleplanes deserves alot more attention than it should have right now, and in my opinion, that’s a fact. Let’s try to get some more updates soon, devs, eh? What I and a lot of other players would like to see is a building system similar to JNO’s, simple, easy to work with, and more.
@Pan
Well that aged well.
@ToeTips very much
@starmango Go to here https://www.simpleplanes.com/Blog/View/1713648/Its-time-for-a-new-name-for-SimpleRockets-2 and go to the top comments
@AlivePan can i get a link or quote from it? id like to see it, not that im denying it or anything
Andrew already stated that they are going to focus on SP more this year
Also, Dont Even Get Me Started On The Fact That Since Sp Is An Old Game, It Runs On A Messy, Unorganized, Spaghetti Code, So Good Luck Even Trying To Update Or Mod The Game Because Of That.
Old
unity
build
And also they're a company, they need to make money if they wanna keep making games, Juno is going to be much more return on investment.
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes
Basically, if you don't have a flagship phone then your gonna have a bomb in your hands
@ToeTips that reminds me, one of the mods on Juno made a 747 that had over 100,000 parts. It literally has a red download button, and is tagged with “Mobile-Deadly”.
@324
No I refuse to believe that's the sequel
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes
Well yeah but I think simpleplanes style of building is much better and has way more potential if new stuff is added
@Kangy
Yes, I DO NOT LIKE HOW STUFF IS BUILT THERE
I think it is somewhat neglected and in the back of the devs’ minds but at the same time they may be working on something completely new, we just don’t know about it yet. Those who think otherwise have psychic abilities and can read the minds of the devs lol.
I use some social media platforms to display my content and I’ve got many people to play this game, so in my opinion it has plenty of potential even if they have to make a simple planes 2. Forget what the Naysayers say, that’s not the attitude that makes new content.
Talked to the developers several times, showed them strange unused features and assets (ancient ruins, city, propeller for ships), in versions since 1.6, they seem to be unaware. They are working with something they don't understand, as the old developers are mostly busy with JUNO
@ToeTips it’s why SimplePlanes is still “simple”
@starmango no juno is different
juno is much more complicated in terms of a lot of things
i don't like the building on it as a result, i think if sp had almost everything else juno has it'd be great, hence why juno isn't 'sp2' and sp2 should be within the dev's course of actions
Yeah, and I wonder if the number of active players is declining too compared to 2018…

@XxRxX Referring to Simpleplanes
@CinnamonCBF bad example
mig 21 bison and M-55S exist
also old stuff got more drip
I think what happened is: The game is kind of old and having to update it would be more work than making a new game.
It's kind of like this: You made a aircraft from 2017 and planning to make a version with the current skills you have on the game. What would you do? Use the old aircraft as a basis or start from scratch? Most of the people would rather build a new aircraft than update the aircraft(Atleast to my mind)
Like a dead star from far, you see it's light but it already died long ago.
I think it just makes more sense to work on Juno bc simpleplanes is like "complete" while Juno just recently got all promised fetures like career and is in active development. I think SR2/Juno can be considered a sequel to SimplePlanes.
@starmango
I've not played Juno but if the building and designing suite is anything like Simple rockets 2. Then I'd rather simpleplanes
From what I think, it’s just more commercially beneficial to them since they’ve poured a lot into developing juno and advertising it, as opposed to SimplePlanes that given the age of the game itself they can only update it so much due to the engine it runs on.
