I’m reaching out to the Simple Planes community to ask what are some cool aviation stories and moments you have to share. Here’s one of mine. I was on a Virgin Australia flight from Sydney to Brisbane on a holiday. We fly past Newcastle airport or RAAF BASE Williamtown and I look out of the small window of the 737. I see 12 F-35A Lightning ll aircraft on the taxi and runway as well as 2 Wedgetail aircraft and a C-17 Globemaster just chilling. I literally jumped on the plane because I never get to see jets or military planes other than at Airshows because I don’t live near any bases or airports. This was a cool 30 seconds of my life.
