Erm, so like, i been on simple planes a long time, like. I started sp in high school and i’m an aircraft mechanic now so a lot of time has past yet i still come back to what i still see as, the most wholesome community in the internet. So heres my dilemma, i knew someone irl who hit platinum, me. Im roughly close, i think its 20k if my memory is correct but i dont ever see myself reaching it, but i remember a time when upvotes where much more common then they are now, heck i even predicted “kinda” that ads would be introduced on sp, to find that look for my post called “how to make money on simpleplanes” i dont remember how to format links so have fun on that scavenger hunt. But like, do people still reach platinum, is the effort still worth it, i dont know how things are these days so i genuinely have no idea because im not as active as i used to be.
@Spacedoge12345plane if you leave you have to end the challenge
Yes, i've just reached it today
Yes, it's still possible.
Once you hit 25k points, you'll get platinum.
@SILVERPANZER
You get bonus points for making shadow the hedgehog tanks
It is possible. Just gotta work at it enough. For me i just kept making builds, about 2-3 a week for a year straight and getting friendships with people. Now i definitely cant keep that pace, and quality is improving quite a bit sense then. In my opinion sense the inclusion of fuselage slicing it has made building so much easier and should mean plat is easier but also the community is seeming to downsize a bit too.
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes building for points is giving me fun
Is it possible to reach platinum?
Yes
Is it worth the trouble?
No
Is it rewarding?
Yes, in a way
Is it generally helpful in this site?
No
.
Even a bronze user who put time in builds could outshine a tried and hardened platinum user.
Conclusion:
Points are pointless. Build what you want, how you want, when you want. Just be sure to abide by the rules.Idk
points are dumb
build for you not the points
to answer your question, plat is stupid easy if you have a tag list of over 50 people, make psm (oh My GOONES PSN!1!!!) and plaster teasers like no tomorrow collecting tags
@Spacedoge12345plane
Highly detailed electric guitar perhaps?
It's not possible unfortunately
@Spacedoge12345plane I making fictional Tanks, which automatically destroys 1 and 2 points from my list. I could do A-10s and F-14s every week, but then I would cease to exist.
@ZeroWithSlashedO ngl i liked building but its the time it takes that killed it for me, although i might try it again at some point
@HuskyDynamics01 25k is just a grind to me tbh
@rexzion and in my case, extremely hard if your lazy like me
@ToeTips ngl i feel that, before xml and tweaks, i used to only be able to make instruments, ngl i kinda want to make another one now just for hecks
@SILVERPANZER for me it was all, promote, promote, promote, hype old content, lots of forum interaction, make something thats not a vehicle as it catches attention more, be wholesome
@DarDragon ong ong
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes ngl that would be rough, going for platinum then loosing purpose without meeting the community
@SILVERPANZER man just dissed hard, although it makes sense as gold and platinum tend to be the most loyal members of the community
I would not say that reaching the platinum rank is useless, as many people think. For some, this is the goal of being recognized in the SP community, as many in the SP community would rather a
communicate with a Platinum player than a Bronze or Silver one.
I’ve only been here for 10 months, and look at me now.
And about my opinion on platinum? Well, if you reach it, you reach it. There are no awards, no prizes, and you will not be any different of a player than you were before. Those users who become singularly focused on reaching this rank will find that after doing so, they lose all their purpose (which is something that I’ve prevented myself from doing).
So if you truly want to enjoy SimplePlanes, focus on the game’s primary objective: building whatever you like. Gaining points should only be a secondary objective.
Gold best rating
It is enough to follow a number of rules, here are some of them:
Not really worth it in my opinion... I'm happy with the gold I have. Also I'm trying to make good stuff not hunt for points.
