I may flashback a lot, but I do really miss some of my lost players. Builders who pushed the community into new eras. I miss those legends. I really do. It’s lock Blocksworld. I miss it so damn much. I was Rbrenticus. I was in Cliffricks’’ last short. I laughed at it. I loved the player. I miss it so much. I used to be happier. I used to be so much happier. I guess losing players and games is life. It’s like Titanfall. Our community loves each other, despite the player. We like each other because we share an interest in a game we love. I truly loved the good old days.
In simple planes, I loved the times when we had these insane builds. Sometimes I still scratch my head, “How the hell did you make a flight computer in SP? Vanilla? How?” Or I’ll see the mechs, and be amazed at them. Some things have to go, so we can have the best times. I lost Blocksworld. Sad, but I got to see three years of SP. I’m enthusiastic about this game. I love the players. I really care about ya’ll. I like how these guys can build. I may not be a builder myself, but I am one heck of a pilot. I enjoy flying your planes. Each of you guys have a skill, and I hope you never let go of it. This isn’t just a game. This is an art piece. I can’t paint it, but I can enjoy the sketch.
Simpleplanes is one of the best communities. Mods are highly active, and the developers are too! That’s insane. Not much games care as much as you do. Thanks Andrew, for letting me be a part of this.
Old players, what is your favorite memory of SP?

It used to be simple.
Jundroo, we hope you can implement freecam, new islands, and underwater cam to the next SP update soon. And return all mods to android right now!
Ps: pin this comments, then our president would be proud!
discovering the islands like 3 months ago
fav memory was playing multiplayer like 6 years ago, It was so simple back then. We didnt have whiny children
@HuskyDynamics01 Haha, I remember this, the original mustang looked so goofy, as a kid I never knew it was supposed to be one lol
Honestly I had the most fun with this game when I was still learning how to do a lot of the things I am capable of now. My favorite thing I remember building was my Rapide. It took like 5 months for me to finish and release it (mainly because I revised almost every single part multiple times like wings, canopy, landing gear, engine, tail, etc.) I learned a ton of skills while making that thing that still apply on a lot of my current builds. I have a successor to it with a completely revised design but it’s currently rotting in my save files and I have no idea if I’ll ever finish the thing. picture
Earliest memory with the game? The original landing tutorial, with the 1.0 version of both the game and the P-51 Mustang stock plane. I was really bad at it!
Best memory? Hmm... I think either checking out the USS Beast update (both for all the new features and because the old model was a little silly), or my first flight (in the Wasp) following update 1.11. This game has come so far, and it makes me so happy to see it keep on going and inspiring new players to build things and just have fun :)
I first got SP in 2014, and joined this site in 2016, I think my favourite memory is seeing weapons being added for the first time and everyone going crazy because of how cool it was to have weapons added to this game. Seeing people evolve from blocky builds into the new fuselage pieces, seeing how building techniques rapidly evolved, how something like a fighter went from taking a few hours to build and perfect, could be fleshed out within an hour if you got good enough. Watching XML editing expand into something, to the point people have made DOOM and Calculators inside SimplePlanes. The games was first released nearly 10 years ago under a beta on mobile, and has come a very long way, as with its age, the game is no longer in active development. Its a sad sight, however if we wait long enough, eventually one day, we will see SimplePlanes 2.
@5 Blocksworld was the best game of its time.
Around the time car wheels were first added to the game, those were not just my favorite memories of simpleplanes, but of my childhood
|
My dad worked out of town (about 30 minute drive) during this time, this meant I got to take frequent trips out to the camper at a camp site about 10 minutes from where he worked: even got picked up from middle school early to go to this campsite
|
Anyways, the day Car Wheels were added to the game was the same day I got picked up early from school to go "camping" again with my dad for a long weekend, it was a 5 day trip.
|
My mind was buzzing with ideas with those wheels during those 5 days

Life was good back then
Definitely just the enjoyment of making builds and that feeling when you reach bronze making builds now it's somewhat enjoyable
I don't even know when I got silver. Somewhat recently I think. Perhaps within the last year? Yeah I think.
I have a Welshman to thank for that. Gave me tons of upvotes.
I get that points aren't everything, but it's still nice to have my little corner of the site and a colour to show for it.
I'd been playing for some time before getting my account. Got the Mac version one christmas. Got the Mobile the same day. Ended up playing mostly mobile even if my device could barely run it. In fact, went back to said device some time ago (idk look for original T-27 on my account whenever that was uploaded) and it lagged like hell. The thing doesn't turn on anymore so I can upload anything else from it.
Eventually went back to Mac.
Played on and off, very mostly off, since then. Mostly just comment and stuff, as my post history would show.
I'm over 5 years on this site!
And still a Silver!
I'm not a fossil like those platinum users in this thread, or that Su-47 fellow, but I'm fairly sure my account is on the older side regardless.
So I can look upon those silly 1-year old children... and their gold status... And feel quite inadequate for not having really improved my skills over 6 or more years...
I've been playing this game for more than 6 years now (damn time goes by so fast). But one of my best memory is actually pretty recent.
Being french, I'm part of the french community of SP, we aren't a lot but I'm sure that we are some of the people that play and talk the more with each other in the entire game (some of us including me already meet IRL).
One of my best memory is with MisterT, WarHawk95 and GeneralDuckGaming. We all took a T-6 Texan build by WarHawk and took off in multiplayer from Wright and started a long trip to Maywar. It was very long but we were just doing stupid stuff and talking, each plane had a different color and each player it's own storys and jokes.
Wonderful moment.
We did a lot of multiplayer sessions all together, doing races, dogfights, just flying and chilling or doing stupid stuff with stupid builds. But this one memory is just golden to me.
@Transair56 hey man, I’ve seen you post this exact comment on quite a few posts now, if you could please stop spamming it on other posts in the future that would be greatly appreciated
Broooooooooooooo you played blocksoworld too
@INeedANewName a vr game 💀
@DatMaluchGuy19 Sorry for your loss brother.
I’ve been playing SP for a while now but started an account around a year ago. I remember at Wright there weren’t any terminal buildings, and how simple the runway was.
@Transair56 please stop spamming this in random posts, especially tagging people.

I've been playing on Android since 2015. my favorite memory was in 2016 when i got a pc with windows 7. coincidently, jundroo had just come out with the update that released procedural fuselage blocks.
Air racing tournaments! I remember years and years ago when my family were watching the Oscars or some other such award ceremony, I just stayed up in my room to watch one of the tournaments. It was great to see how much performance people could squeeze out of a design without the use of XML or overload.
