Making big builds would be a pain in the butthole with this tbh. It's also busy and takes away from the build itself.
I'm kinda glad they got rid of it, but it'd be cool if there was a mod that added it back

I forgot that they changed the ring around the pad as well. It has been a while.

Also, looking back on it the old designer now reminds me of some of the SR1 parts.

if you go into the wayback machine and find the H man craft you can see that its night in the designer

As a modder myself I haven't seen this in the files anywhere so I doubt simply restoring it is possible.
Someone could make a replica of this perhaps. Or maybe go with something fresh that would compliment modern building.

The devs had their reasons. I'm not entirely sure, but I'm assuming it was probably interfering with the building process of certain aircraft.
