What if the devs actually didnt abandon SP.
I mean, they did say theyd work on it more and then proceeded to abandon it

They're done. That's it. SP is at the end of it's road. They're making more jumps with Juno and other projects, and it's making them more money. Not to mention they're alot happier with them.

SimplePlanes is old. If we're talking massive update, it'll be a pain in the ass for them to do cause this game runs on an older Unity platform which is more complicated to work with. Porting old stuff into a newer engine could potentially break them, and it'll be back to square one just fixing every single problem.

Yeah I know, why do you think I don't really bother about making SP2 posts? When the mods are ready they will get to it.

To be pragmatic here, I think everyone knew why the dev team departed the game. Its reached its limit (I think). I'm more inclined to think that they may attempt a sequel of this game with better resources but as far as I think I know. The dev team of course did say they'll maintain the game as its not going away.

They didn't abandon it, they are working on a new game (SIMPLEBOATS?) and will returj to give us some updates when they're done

Probably just said that so that everyone could stop bothering them about a new update. But now it seems everyone is bothering them with SP2, funny how that works.
