I hope we don't need to fly out of SP for "Fly Out"
Flyout is a new game coming out on the stem which is similar to SP. I wish Jondroo would do a better job updating SP and should focus more on SP rather than Juno. Juno doesn't have a great community compared to SP and I don't get it (at least for me) - FlyOut looks like it uses better texture, and ready-made wings, more flexible 3D editing tools - I can see the node editing staff with similar to standard 3D programs such as 3DsMax, Maya, and Blender
Some images from FlyOut
The node editing tool with similar to standard 3D programs such as 3DsMax, Maya, and Blender - which makes more realistic fuslarge curves, which we were struggling such as when building F16, B1B bomber - and blending wings and body in most planes
Yes, if they extend Flyout to iPad and mobile devices, it may affect the SP very much sooner or later.
@Jundroo @AndrewGarrison
I would suggest calling for user feedback and some improvement for SP to sustain - If SP make a separate game, such as Multi-Player dogfight game, in which user can upload the planes built in SP. also Buy and sell options, like users can buy treasure chest form SP to buy the premium planes. There are so many ways to engage more new users. And build this community alive
I guess my requests may be answered in SP2
Sp 👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎
Flyout, J:NO 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮👎👎👎👎
I don't think it will, because it is sort of complicated
It's true, Simpleplanes needs more updates, It has too much potential
If flyout gets multiplayer, simple planes is screwed
If we're getting SP2, then we need it NOW
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes It's a good insight. But I love this community and make it as long as we can. So, I suggest bringing back more followers by making better updates and attractions. I want to give the famous Kodak film company, which was the #1 leading film and camera company in the 80s and 90s, which started the digital cameras in the 60s for satellites and aerial photography. They did not improve the digital cameras and were stubborn and enjoying the "World's best film producer" bubble until other companies took over - now, not many people use film, and this company is just history. Compared to FUJI Film, another film company that keeps constant updates and maintains its leading role in the industry. I hope you get my point. @Jundroo @AndrewGarrison
2015: KSP was released. SP stayed alive.
2018: SR2 (now Juno) was released, with a better game engine, more features and a larger world. SP stayed alive.
2020: Stormworks was released, with a huge open world, freedom to build anything and multiplayer. SP stayed alive.
2023: KSP2 was released. SP stayed alive.
Oh yeah, don’t forget Roblox.
I’ve read somewhere that the average shelf life of a game (that doesn’t support mods) is 1-2 years. For SP to have survived for a full 9 years so far, that’s pretty impressive. And think about it: even though there are so many better alternatives to SP out there, 20-30 new planes are still being churned out every single day, so I doubt the game’s going anywhere.
My take on this is that the game lives up to its name: simple, easy to understand. The learning curve is much flatter than more advanced games, and that’s what makes it appealing to the market of 13-15 year olds, which are the target audience of this game.
A con of Flyout is that there are no tutorials available, which means that you need a pretty solid understanding of aerodynamics before you even start. There is also no place to share builds (even Stormworks has a Steam Workshop), which means you have to figure literally everything out yourself.
Also, there’s honestly no obligation for people to stick to just one game and play it for the rest of their lives. People have freedom to choose, and they’ll want to move to other games from time to time. So just because some people move on to another game, it doesn’t mean that SP is dead.
If you say that it’s to support the developers, take note that as indie devs, they’re here not to make money, but in the hope that people enjoy their game. If their goal was profit, we’d have steep paywalls, endless sequels and no mobile version, which is much worse. Of course, buying the game would help them quite a bit, but they’re a passionate team who just likes doing what they’re doing, and I’m sure they’re satisfied that so many equally passionate users love the game. In my opinion, that is something no amount of money can truly buy.
@MrSilverWolf I suggest SP should add some better features and notable update. Last update was like a joke. I saw 2-3 gear sticks.
I don’t think it’s gonna out do SP… I still prefer SP over Fly Out
Flyout is more replica orientated, SimplePlanes is more experimentally orientated. Rotators and stuff are much simpler in flyout (at least Ive heard), not allowing for the crazy stuff you can do in SP
If anyone wants to fly out to Flyout they can send themselves flying out.
SP will still be around for a real good while until it does eventually die out. All good things come to an end, and new ones are born too.
...
is that game online
Do they have a community website for downloading planes?
fly out building is piss easy
but sp’s building is hard
sp is easy to run and access with mobile versions
fly out is harder to run and has no access on top of being in EA so a lot is missing.
SP is great if you give it time. Like anything you can’t rush it and expect results
I would like to play it when the min requirements arent 8gb RAM
ya'll be acting like flyout is a death sentence to sp
calm down
sp will still be here for the foreseeable future
If they make the UI as easy as Simpleplanes, Jundroo is screwed
im getting flyout on friday
Gb Chat, Now I'm x
"Flyouter"
I made a video about this recently, one killer feature of SP is that you can play it on a mobile device, while Flyout is PC only.
@MrCOPTY @Zaineman
@WinsWings I agree
@Randomplayer I don't mean it. But SP should do something. In the long run, if SP don't do any good update, who knows..
