Unlike a bunch of other people in the forums who said they'd be leaving, I'm back. And I'm back with massive progress on my mobile-compatible railway map.
This comes just as the Android-friendly railway mod broke due to the latest update, so it really is great timing.
Anyways, remember this?
Now, prepare to be blown away as I show you this:
I am also proud to announce that the second station, Meridian, has been completed! The beauty of the station's architecture shows that you can never go wrong with circular arches.
Uhhhh... part count?
Well, ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce that the part count currently stands at 976!
It's... yeah, much more than I previously estimated, and I did go extremely overboard. But fear not, for:
- most newer smartphones (2018-ish onwards) have a level of processing power that can rival computers. It's the entire reason the discussion on mobile mods even came up in the first place.
- the total number of drag points is 2, which eliminates most of the build's lag.
- there will be several lower-part versions for potato phones.
Can other trains run on it?
The map would be useless if already-existing trains weren't able to run on it. Hence, the track is compatible with trains able to run on SPR, and good news: it supports broad-gauge trains! The platforms have been placed further back than those in SPR, and if it still doesn't fit, you can always disable aircraft collisions on the platforms.
The main drawback is that the slopes on SPMR are steeper than that on the mod, with a gradient of 1 degree. As a result, some trains, like realSavageMan's CTA 5000, are unable to climb the slope without derailing.
Cool Screenshots of Other Trains
Besides being a detailed map to simulate train driving, SPMR was also made as a scene for thumbnail screenshots. To show you the immense potential of this map, even for PC players, here are several epic screenshots taken by yours truly in SPMR and edited with Adobe Lightroom.

That's it for this progress update; I'll post another one when the third station is complete. Goodnight, and as always,
T to be tagged!
(Those who've already said T in my previous teasers will still be tagged.)

@Mousewithamachinegun123 you should go look at the newer teasers lol

T tea ☕️
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes nice! also, t
@DatMaluchGuy19 I'm lazy right now lol.
Although, I can show you the train I've been building for this map.
It contains a full interior, with functioning route map displays.
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes also, yes, discord works, so host the images over there.

This will be amassing. I can finally use (most) trains I got
Sorry for off topic comment, but I just realized that my account age is older somehow. Also T
t
@ToeTips it has to be done in the code of the aircraft itself. not overload, if someone knows how to do it, please tag me
@winterro
I tried putting that in, it didnt work.
T
@ToeTips rotators get more floppy the longer your craft gets.
disableInertiaTensors
disables the floppy stuff.T
Oh I forgot to say earlier T
@L3FT2R1GHT follow this to enable the dev console.
To make it pop up, tap the screen with 3 fingers (from what I’ve heard).
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes how can you enable the dev console on iOS?
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes If you make a “potato” version I’m going to modify it to be WW1 themed version for armored trains because trains are already cool why not give it multiple cannons (also I wish I knew about this earlier because I can finally use trains you know IOS not getting any modding support and all)
@L3FT2R1GHT
1.The track, environment and stations are a single build. However, I’m considering releasing a “potato” version with no stations; just the track, hills and maybe buildings. Although the railway is designed for passenger trains, there will be a stretch of suburban railway with a freight yard. Most of the railway (except the section around Meridian station on viaducts) is also pretty suitable for freight and steam trains.
2.Due to the fact that SimplePlanes spawns AI builds based on their centre (point of origin) instead of where the cockpit block’s located, yes, custom locations have to be made. However, as you can teleport using the dev console (which can be enabled on mobile), setting up exact spots is pretty straightforward once you have the coordinates.
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes I have two questions
Can all the tracks be spawned without the stations? (preferably yes, so that I can run this with the tracks, and with or without the stations)
Do custom locations have to be made? (preferably not, because exact spots can be tricky to replicate)
@Aarav it’s a map I made myself using fuselage blocks
There is a railway update?
