Episode 6: Battle of The Titans

The next day, Gensokyo is once again back to normal, oh, and so is Reimu. Now that she has known everything, Reimu is finally able to put her personal things aside and worry about the war. And it’s good that she decides that because the peaceful day is interrupted by an explosion sound at around 12. Reimu goes outside to see what’s happening, she sees a smoke coming up from the Southern beach, but she can’t see any enemies. A few seconds later another explosion occurs, now she’s finally able to see that they’re actually missiles, the missile flies so fast that she’s barely able to see it coming, it must be a hypersonic missile. Then more of them come and they primarily hit anti-air and cannon turrets, someone is trying to disable Gensokyo’s defenses. Then, the RF Shtorm activates its speakers and the fleet commander says: “Gensokyo, we are under attack, enemies is still undetected, we need some planes to go spot them.”. Then Masayoshi’s voice can also be heard from the SAAC airport factory: “Gensokyo Guardians squadron, scramble immediately.”. Reimu then quickly changes her clothes to flightsuit, gets in her plane and takes off. After taking off, Reimu’s radio is connected with SAAC control room and she’s asked to fly to the SAAC to be armed with glide bombs and air-to-ground missiles and also to wait for the others. Marisa, Sakuya, Sanae and Youmu then come one after another. When the squadron is completed and fully armed, everyone takes off and then is ordered to fly to the South to spot the enemy. This is the first time everyone except Sanae has gone outside of Gensokyo. After a short while, they spot another hypersonic missile flying straight to Gensokyo, following the smoke trail of the missile, they can see where it’s coming from. “Enemies spotted, uhm, three ships.” Marisa speaks to the radio, everyone’s radio has also already connected with the Shtorm, the fleet commander says: “Three ships… can you elaborate more?”, “Uhm… I don’t know how to explain but they seems pretty big, they’re still quite far away so I don’t know.” Marisa replies. After a bit more observation, Sanae then reports back: “This is Sanae, visual confirmed! They have tri-cannon turrets, they’re missile battleships! Two of then have a 2-2 configuration, one has 3 turrets and all of them are at the front!”, “Those configuration… Yamato-class and Izumo?” the Shtorm’s captain says, “So the rumors were true, they exist, those Japanese sure know how to hide their things.” the fleet commander says. The captain then asks: “Now how do we deal with them?”, after a bit of thinking, the fleet commander asks the GG squadron: “You have any weapons to deal with those ships?”, “We have some glide bombs and AGMs… not helpful against these behemoths at all.” Sanae replies.
Commander: “Hmm, guess we have to call for some help then. Captain, search for nearby ally ships and call them in.”
Captain: “Yes sir.”
“…”
Captain: “Commander? Come have a look.”
Commander: “Hmm?… Oh? Seems like luck is on our side, call them in. Alright, Gensokyo Guardians squadron, we’ve found some supports. Now, I need you to use your AGMs to distract them, but you need to fire from far away, those things have railguns and lasers as anti-air, if you’re within their 8km radius, you’re basically dead, so be careful and keep your distance.”
The squadron then engages the enemies. All 5 planes continuously fires missiles at the battleships, except Youmu because her plane is a magic plane, it uses phantom slashes instead. Only Youmu is able to damage the ships, all missiles launched by the others are all destroyed by anti-air lasers. After they’ve run out of ammo, they continue to circle around the battleships to continue distracting them. Then Marisa decides to test a bit and uses the glide bombs. She flies at around Mach 1.25 and launches the bombs, and it actually works, the bombs and the aircraft fly fast enough for the anti-air turrets to unable to attack them. Everyone then follows what Marisa just did and continues to attack the ships, of course only to draw their attention, those bombs did almost no damage to the enemies. 5 minutes later, a big explosion occurs on the port side of the Yamato-class on the left which is the Musashi. “What the fuck?! What just happen?! Crew, report! Argg!” just when the captain of the Musashi finished speaking, another missile hits it, two missiles are enough to damage the entire left side of the battleship. The Izumo has a much larger radar range compare to the others so it uses the radar to look for the new threats. The Izumo is able to pick up 4 more missiles flying at them extremely fast, “Hypersonic missiles incoming!!”, the captain of the Izumo yells, of course they’re unable to stop them and are all hit. After a while the radarman is finally able to spot them: “Enemy ships spotted, 4 ships, the signals are massive, they must be battlecruisers and battleships!”. “All aircraft, withdraw, retreat from the battlefield immediately, reinforcements have arrived!” the Shtorm orders the GG squadron to retreat back. On their way back the 5 are able to see a whole swarm of naval missiles flying at the Japanese ships, follow the smoke trail of the missiles, 4 ships can be seen. Everyone of the GG squadron can’t tell what they’re of course, those ships are the primary strength of the Russian Navy, they are the true definition of firepower. There’s 4 ships, two of them are the Kiev-class battlecruisers, the other two are the Moscow/(Moskva) battleship and the Admiral Isakov (a secret Soviet battleship). The Kiev-class ships primarily uses missiles to fight, one major advantage is how many missile they have, because of that they can just spam their missiles at the enemy. The Moscow and Admiral Isakov however are more like snipers, the both have only two tri-cannon turrets and all are at the front, both also have missile tubes on the sides which house the Zircon hypersonic missiles; the Moscow has railcannons and missile silos both at the front (in front of the cannons) and at the rear, it also has a helicopter; the Isakov however only has missile silo at the rear, the entire rear is the silo so it doesn’t have a helicopter, it also uses the traditional gunpowder cannons. When the enemy ships are in range, the Moscow starts charging up the railguns to maximum power and fires 6 projectiles at them, all 6 bullets are able to penetrate the Yamato and heavily damage it. The Musashi is more advanced and also uses railguns, it charges up its railguns and fires up to 12 projectiles at the Moscow, but something no one expected happens: all 12 bullets completely ricochet away from the Moscow, causing massive confusion to the Japanese ships. That’s one major advantage the Moscow has, because it has low payload weight, the ship is able to have a much thicker armor than any ship in the world. Taking advantage of that, the Russian ships immediately spam up to 40 missiles at them, severely damage all three battleships, making them continuously popping flares to signal that they surrender and retreat. After they’ve retreated away, the captain of the Moscow speaks to the RSNF:
Moscow's captain: “Lucky for you that we are on a mission so we could come over and help, otherwise y'all would've been screwed."
Shtorm's captain: "Thanks for the help comrades… what mission are you currently doing? Patrol or what?"
Moscow's captain: "No, information gathering."
Shtorm's captain: "Information gathering?"
Moscow: "Yeah, we were sent after being notified that a few strange ships can be seen by one of our spy satellites, including the three ships we just fought with. Luckily our man just able to copy some data and files hidden in those ships’ system, uhm, you guys good with analyzing right?"
Shtorm: “Yeah.”
Moscow: “Alright, we’ll send these for you, after you’ve finished analyzing them, can you report back the result for us?”
Shtorm: “Okay comrades, send them to us.”
Moscow: “Alright, thank you, moving here in these slow ass ships is already a challenge for us, they didn’t know what we would face so they didn’t want to risk sending out small weaker ships to investigate.”
Shtorm: *chuckle “Alright, see you later.”
Moscow: “Yeah, goodbye.” *radio cut
After that, the Shtorm connects with the control room of the SAAC factory airport, where Masayoshi, Squadron X and GG squadron are currently in and they start open the files and data one by one. After a while of unhelpful datas, they eventually come across a password locked folder, they then hack to break the lock and open the folder, and what they find is surprising to say the least. There’re multiple blueprints of many secret and untold projects in the folder: Shinano (a giant supercarrier), JN Musashi, JN Yamato, JN Izumo, JN Tone (drone carrier cruiser),… Everyone is already believe that most of them have already existed. However what catch everyone’s attention the most are 3 blueprints. The first one is the blueprint of a stealth tailless super drone, it has thrust vectoring nozzles, arrow wings and canards, the body is theoretically can easily handle up to 30G, the blueprint’s name is “Project—Omega”. The second blueprints is a massive 400 meters triple hull submersible aircraft carrier with railguns and nuclear torpedoes, the blueprint’s name is “Project—Basilisk”. And finally is a giant 800 meters long triple hull aircraft carrier, named “Project—Orochi”, everyone worry about this one the most because it has the same name as Shinigami’s squadron. Everyone is a bit concerned about those three, the drone is completely possible, however, the other two, everyone has a mixed feeling about them, theoretically they are possible but if they exist, well, that’s gonna be a big problem. After finishing analyzing them, the RSNF sends the datas back to the battleships. Then the day continues like normal.

*Somewhere in Japan
Man: “How’s everything going?”
Woman: “Mission failed sir, all three ships were heavily damaged by other battleships and battlecruisers.”
Man: “Ugghh… Those Russians…”
Man: *Evil chuckle “They don’t know what they’re putting themselves into… or what we’re having… let’s just continue this war as planned, Gensokyo will be ours soon enough… “
Woman: “Y-Yes sir.”
