Non-steam mods on steam help

0 SomebodyNobodyKnows  one year ago

I’ve had the game for a little while now, and I finally decided to make an account. I want to download the SPR Map, but I download the game on steam, which I am also very new to. I do not see the mod on steam so I just downloaded it from the website, but I don’t know how to find where to put the file so the mod will be in my game. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unlike a lot of other games, SimplePlanes doesn't really have its mods on the Steam Workshop. There is an option for modders to upload there, but most put it on this website, which is where a lot of the community is. Downloading a mod from here is just like downloading from the Steam Workshop; you just have to manually enable the mod by double-clicking it or placing it in your mods folder.

@HuskyDynamics01 yeah it broke for me when I moved SP to an external hard drive.

@32 Most of the time yeah, but sometimes Windows decides to do a little trolling and forgets the programs that open .spmod files (or .splanes).

@HuskyDynamics01 Also you can double click on the file to open it, that will automatically take you to the mods menu to enable it in SP.

For mods downloaded from the site (here), you should put the .spmod file in
    C:\Users\[yourUserName]\AppData\LocalLow\Jundroo\SimplePlanes\Mods
