I went on the web archive and found out in simpleplanes you used to be able to rate planes. Why and when was this removed and how did it work?
One of the reasons is that this rating, like upvotes, is a subjective assessment and does not depend much on the quality of the build, for example, one player hates another player, and this player can call his SP friends and thereby specifically lower the rating of another player, the rating will also be raised by conspiracy.
I guess they just replaced it with the upvote
